The present invention provides an ink jet recording method capable of recording an image having good abrasion resistance by using an aqueous ink and a reaction liquid. In the ink jet recording method, the aqueous ink containing a resin particle and the reaction liquid containing a reactant for aggregating the component in the aqueous ink are ejected from a recording head of the ink jet system and applied onto a recording medium. The reaction liquid contains a compound represented by the general formula (1) (n in the formula represents an integer of 0 to 3). At least one of the aqueous ink and the reaction liquid contains a surfactant having an HLB value of ≤15.

Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

There is provided an ink jet recording method for recording an image on a recording medium with an aqueous ink and an aqueous reaction liquid containing a reactant that reacts with the aqueous ink. The aqueous ink contains a pigment dispersed by the action of a carboxylic acid group, a resin particle and a water-soluble organic solvent. The rate of increase in the particle size of the pigment dispersed by the action of the carboxylic acid group when the pigment comes into contact with the aqueous reaction liquid is 8.0 times or more. The amount of water absorbed by the recording medium from the start of contact to 30 msecin a Bristow method is 10 mL/mor less.

The ink jet recording method includes ejecting an aqueous ink from a recording head to apply the aqueous ink to a recording medium, to thereby record an image. The ink jet recording method includes: ejecting the aqueous ink heated to a temperature T(° C.) from the recording head to apply the aqueous ink to the recording medium; and heating the recording medium having the aqueous ink applied thereto to a temperature T(° C.), the aqueous ink containing a pigment and a polyester resin particle, a glass transition temperature T(° C.) of the polyester resin particle, the temperature T(° C.) and the temperature T(° C.) satisfying relationships of the following expressions (1) to (3).(° C.)>(° C.)  (1)(° C.)≥(° C.)+10° C.  (2)(° C.)≥(° C.)−10° C.  (3)

Provided is an ink jet recording method capable of suppressing movement of a coloring material and adhesion thereof to a porous layer even after repeated contact of the porous layer with a first image. This method of recording an image on a recording medium by using an aqueous reaction liquid and a water-based ink containing a first ink includes applying a reaction liquid containing a reactant and resin particles to the entirety of a first recording medium; applying a coloring material-containing first ink to the first recording medium to form a first image; and bringing a porous layer of a liquid absorption member into contact with the first image to absorb a liquid component from a first-image-including portion on the first recording medium. The volume-based cumulative pore size (&#x3bc;m) at 10% of the porous layer is greater than the volume-based cumulative particle size (&#x3bc;m) at 90% of the resin particles.

An ink jet recording method including the steps of applying onto a recording medium a treatment liquid containing a component which causes ink viscosity increase and a compound A having a polyalkylene glycol ether structure and having only one hydroxy group; and applying an ink onto the recording medium. The cloud point of the compound A measured by using a 1% by mass concentration aqueous solution of the compound A is 50&#xb0; C. or more.

Ink jet recording method

An image recording method including the steps of applying an ink containing a pigment to a recording medium and applying a treatment liquid containing an organic acid to the recording medium so as to overlap at least a part of a region to which the ink is applied. The treatment liquid contains at least one organic compound having an anionic group, and an amino group or quaternary ammonium in its molecular structure and having surface-activating capability.

An image recording method includes a process of applying an ink containing a pigment to a recording medium, and a process of applying a liquid composition containing organic acid to the recording medium in such a manner as to be at least partially overlapped with a region to which the ink is applied. The content (% by mass) of the organic acid in the liquid composition is 10% by mass or more based on the total amount of the liquid composition. The content (% by mass) of an organic solvent in the liquid composition is 5% by mass or more based on the total amount of the liquid composition. The content (% by mass) of an organic solvent having a hydroxyl group in the liquid composition is 4% by mass or less based on the total amount of the liquid composition.

Image recording method

An image recording method includes applying a liquid composition containing a reaction agent to a region of an intermediate transfer member, applying an ink containing a coloring material to at least part of the region to form an intermediate image, and transferring the intermediate image to a recording medium. The intermediate transfer member has a surface on which water forms a contact angle of 40 degrees or more with the surface. The reaction agent precipitates or aggregates the coloring material. The liquid composition has a pH of 6.0 or less and contains a polyether siloxane compound expressed by the following general formula:
