The optical system for measuring optical characteristics includes a first optical system () that captures an infinite conjugate image and a second optical system () that captures a conjugate image of a measurement target. The first optical system () and the second optical system () sharing a first lens group (G) are arranged on two optical axes separated by an optical element () that deflects an optical axis, respectively, and are configured as one measuring optical system. Furthermore, an aperture stop of the second optical system () is arranged in the vicinity of an intermediate image. When a distance in an optical axis direction from an image side paraxial focal point of the first lens group (G) to the aperture stop is represented by Δp, and a focal distance of the first lens group is represented by f1, Δp/f1 satisfies −1.0<Δp/f1<3.0.

First and second measurement operations are performed according to each of a plurality of geometric conditions while keeping the geometric condition. In the first measurement operation, illumination light is radiated from a first light radiating position toward a measurement target position and spectroscopic measurement is performed on reflected light traveling from the measurement target position toward a first light receiving position. In the second measurement operation, illumination light is radiated from a second light radiating position toward a measurement target position and spectroscopic measurement is performed on reflected light traveling from the measurement target position toward a second light receiving position. Multi-angle colorimeter that suppresses the influence of an inclination of a reference angle on a colorimetric result

A difference between a peak reflectance of a first wavelength component and a reflectance of a second wavelength component having a predetermined wavelength among reflectances of a plurality of wavelength components constituting reflected light in a highlight direction from a glitter material-containing coating film is set as a first difference value. Reflectance is measured of the first and second wavelength components of the reflected light in the highlight direction for the coating film corresponding to a measurement object. A first difference value is calculated by using the measurement result. A storage stores in advance correlation information indicating a correlation between the first difference value and an index value indicating predetermined physical characteristics of a glitter material contained in the coating film. An index value calculator calculates the index value of the coating film corresponding to the measurement object by using the correlation information and the first difference value calculated in the first calculator.

A spectroscopic unit and spectroscopic device according to the present invention are provided with a filter that is provided with a plurality of optical filter elements disposed in order from the entrance side to the exit side of light under measurement and has different transmission wavelengths corresponding to entrance positions along a first direction. A first optical filter element from among the plurality of optical filter elements is tilted with respect to a second optical filter element disposed adjacently to the first optical filter element as a result of the first optical filter element being rotated by a prescribed angle with a third direction that is perpendicular to both the first direction and s second direction from the entrance side to the exit side as the axis of rotation thereof or being rotated by a prescribed angle with the first direction as the axis of rotation thereof.

In a multi-angle colorimeter, a light detecting portionincludes a main light receiving window disposed in a predetermined position on a main geometry plane, and first and second auxiliary light receiving windows disposed on a secondary geometry plane, and a main photoelectric conversion element for converting a main component light received by the main light receiving window in a light reflected from a measurement point into an electrical main signal and first and second auxiliary photoelectric conversion elements for converting first and second auxiliary component lights received by the first and second auxiliary light receiving windows in the reflected light respectively into first and second electrical auxiliary signals. A calculating portion corrects the electrical main signal based on the first and second electrical auxiliary signals to obtain color information about the measurement point.

A multi-angle colorimeter employs a multi-angle mode and a symmetrical arrangement mode in an optical arrangement. Light detection on both sides of the symmetrical arrangement is performed by a single photodetector unit. The photodetector unit is used on both sides, and thus, the device becomes simpler, without any impact on individual difference in characteristics of multiple photodetector units. Conversely, elements for illumination can be used on both sides. Also in a case where multiple photodetector units are used, the size and cost of the device can be reduced with the use of a photodetector unit having a relatively low wavelength resolution as a photodetector unit to be used on one side. This enables to reduce an attitude error due to relative tilting of a measurement surface while reducing the size and cost of the device.
