Wherein, the control part obtains the interval information from the interval information memory when starting an operation of forming the developer image, and determines a timing of forming the developer images on the intermediate transfer body based on the interval information, and when the interval is detected by the interval detection part, the control part updates the interval information in the interval information memory based on the interval that is detected.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit that forms a developer image, a transfer portion that transfers the developer image to a transfer object, an endless transfer belt that rotates passing between the image forming unit and the transfer portion, a driving roller that drives the transfer belt to rotate, a plurality of marks provided on the transfer belt and arranged in a rotating direction of the transfer belt, a measurement unit that measures a rotation period of the transfer belt using the plurality of marks, and a controller that adjusts a timing at which the image forming unit forms the developer image, based on a measurement result of the rotation period measured by the measurement unit. A circumferential length L of the transfer belt in the rotating direction has a length based on a natural number multiple of a circumferential length m of the driving roller.

An image forming apparatus that transfers a developer image onto a sheet and forms the developer image on the sheet includes a developer image carrier, a first pressing member, a transfer member, a first voltage supply, and an adherence part. The developer image carrier holds the developer image and moves in a predetermined direction in which the sheet is being carried. The first pressing member presses against the developer image carrier from a side opposite to a side on which a developer image is held. The transfer member is arranged against the first pressing member through the developer image carrier, the first pressing member and the transfer member being responsive to a first voltage applied therebetween to transfer the developer image from the developer image carrier toward the transfer member. The adherence part adheres the sheet to the developer image carrier upstream the first pressing member in the predetermined direction.

An image recording apparatus includes a plurality of print engine aligned in a advance direction in which a transporting member transports a recording medium. A first one of the plurality of image-forming sections records a first detection pattern on the transporting member and a second one of the plurality of image-forming sections records a second detection pattern on the first detection pattern. A color shift detecting section detects the amount of color shift between the first and second ones of the print engines by measuring an intensity of light reflected by the first and second detection patterns. Based on the amount of color shift, a correcting section corrects a position of the image recorded on the recording medium. The detection pattern may be of different configurations, depending on the direction in which color shift occurs, i.e., traverse, advance, and oblique directions. The detection pattern includes a plurality of blocks aligned in a row, each of the plurality of blocks having at least one stripe.
