Disclosed is a sealing glass composition substantially not containing BOor AlO, which is a high-strength, high-expansive crystallizing glass composition that can be used at high temperatures of not less than 950&#xb0; C. The composition substantially not containing boron oxide, alkali metal oxides or aluminum oxide, but containing, in mol %, SiO: 40-55, BaO: 18-35, TiO+ZrO: 0.1-10, ZnO: 0-15, CaO: 0-20, MgO: 0-9, SrO: 0-5, and LaO: 0-2, wherein the total content of RO (R: Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Zn) is at least 44 mol %, and wherein the glass composition, when fired in the form of glass powder at a temperature of 850-1050&#xb0; C, turns into a crystallized glass that exhibits a thermal expansion coefficient of 90-150&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. in the range of 50-850&#xb0; C.

Glass composition for sealing

Disclosed is a high-strength, high-expansion crystallized glass composition that, by being fired at not less than 850&#xb0; C., can be used at high temperatures at not less than 950&#xb0; C. The composition is a sealing glass composition substantially free of boron oxide and comprising the following components, in mol %, SiO: 40-50%, ZnO: 16-30%, BaO: 5-25%, CaO: 0-25%, AlO: 0-5%, and RO: not less than 44% (wherein R denotes one or more species of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, and Zn).

Sealing glass composition

An insulating layer forming material and an insulating layer forming paste capable of forming an insulating layer on a metallic substrate without the filler and glass reacting or warpage occurring even when repeatedly fired at 850&#xb0; C. or higher are provided. The insulating layer forming material containing a lead-free glass composition and an &#x3b1;-quartz filler contains 17.0-40.0 wt. % of the &#x3b1;-quartz filler and 60.0-83.0 wt. % of the lead-free glass composition. The &#x3b1;-quartz filler has an average particle diameter (D) of 1.0-3.5 &#x3bc;m and a specific surface area of 2.5-6.5 m/g. The lead-free glass composition includes no BOand comprises a composition, in mol %, of 40.0-60.0% SiO, 0.5-10.0% AlO, 20.0-45.0% MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, 5.0-23.0% ZnO, and 0-10.0% LiO+NaO+KO.

Insulating layer forming material, insulating layer forming paste

Provided is a glass composition that has a low reactivity with the constituent materials forming a solid oxide fuel cell while having a thermal expansion coefficient suitable for sealing a solid oxide fuel cell, and a glass composition and sealing material that are suitable for sealing a solid oxide fuel cell. The present invention, which relates to a sealing glass composition, is a sealing glass composition used for sealing a solid oxide fuel cell, characterized by having a composition ratio of, expressed in terms of oxide, 40 to 55% by mass of SiO, 0 to 5.0% by mass of AlO, 0 to 8.0% by mass of BO, 20 to 30% by mass of MgO, and 10 to 24% by mass of CaO, wherein a total of the MgO and the CaO is 40 to 54% by mass.

Glass composition and sealing material

A PO&#x2014;BaO&#x2014;ZnO&#x2014;NbOtype optical glass contains 25-50 wt. % PO, 15-35 wt. % BaO, 1-25 wt. ZnO, and 3-10 wt. % NbO. The optical glass has a high refractive index (particularly preferably the refractive index nof 1.6 or more), low dispersion (an Abbe number &#x3c5;of 42 or more), a low deformation point, and improved resistance to devitrification upon molding, and is suitable for precision-mold press molding or other molding processes and also suitable for transfer of a fine structure.

Optical glass

Disclosed is a glass composition which is adapted to use in providing a hermetic seal between a metal and a ceramic, a metal and a metal, and a ceramic and a ceramic, to form crystallized glass having high strength and high thermal expansion which allow it to be used at high temperatures of 950&#xb0; C. and over. The glass composition is substantially free of alkali metals, and contains, as calculated as oxide, 15-30 mass % of SiO, 0-5 mass % of AlO, 20-35 mass % of BO, 10-25 mass % of CaO, 25-40 mass % of MgO, 3-8 mass % (3.0% excluded) of ZrO, and 0-3 mass % of CeO, wherein the crystallized glass which is formed by firing a glass powder made of the glass composition at a temperature of 850-1050&#xb0; C. has a thermal expansion coefficient of 90-110&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. at 50-550&#xb0; C. and flexural strength of not less than 80 MPa.

A powder composition for forming a highly expansible crystallized glass substantially free of alkali metals is disclosed, which composition can provide, through its firing at a temperature of not more than 900&#xb0; C., a seal between metal and ceramic. The powder composition is a powder composition for the formation of a sealing crystallized glass which is substantially free of alkali metals and consists of the powder of a glass containing, calculated as oxides, SiO: 10-30% by mass, BO: 20-30% by mass, CaO: 10-40% by mass, MgO: 15-40% by mass, BaO+SrO+ZnO: 0-10% by mass, LaO: 0-5% by mass, AlO: 0-5% by mass, and RO: 0-3% by mass (wherein R represents Zr, Ti, or Sn), wherein the crystallized glass that is formed by firing the powder composition at 900&#xb1;50&#xb0; C. has a coefficient of thermal expansion of 90-120&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. at 50-550 &#xb0; C.
