A navigation device for setting an appropriate navigation route based on a support route while reducing an amount of communicating information, is provided. The navigation server recognizes a departure position and a destination position of a user, and sets a support route connecting the departure position and the destination position, based on communication with the navigation device. The navigation device recognizes multiple links constituting a part of the support route, based on communication with the navigation server. The navigation device sets a navigation route including the links connecting the departure position and the destination position. The navigation device determines whether a deviation between a distance of an adjacent link pairs among the links along the support route and a distance thereof along the navigation route is equal to or less than a threshold value. The navigation route is output via an output device if the determination result is positive.

Navigation device and navigation system

A navigation device and the like capable of appropriately alleviating an amount of communicating information between the navigation server and a navigation device, from the viewpoint of guiding a user to a destination point via the navigation device, on the basis of a support route which is set by the navigation server. Of the links constituting a support route R which connects the current position pand the destination position pof the user, the links satisfying an extraction condition set according to a changing pattern of a road type are extracted as target links. Also, the target links, that is, the link having high necessity from the viewpoint of guiding the user, with regard to the changing pattern of the road type, is recognized by the navigation deviceon the basis of communication between the navigation serverand the navigation device

A navigation device and the like capable of harmonizing a navigation route for guiding a mobile body set on the basis of a support route search result by a navigation server and a navigation route for also guiding the mobile body set independently of the navigation route, from a view point of guiding the mobile body smoothly. A navigation server and the like capable of making a navigation deviceoutput a route having adequacy in view of various circumstances is provided. A navigation serverrecognizes a navigation route r(k) for guiding the automobileto the destination position pwhich is set according to the first algorithm by the navigation device. Further, a support route R(k) for guiding the automobilefrom a current position (or a departure position) pto the destination position pwhich is set according to the first algorithm is recognized. Still further, a first index c(k) representing an adequacy of the navigation route r(k) in view of the second algorithm is evaluated. On condition that the first index c(k) satisfies a predetermined condition, the support route R(k) is output in place of the navigation route r(k) by the navigation device
