An object is to provide a monitoring device capable of acquiring ONU-specific information and connection information even in the case of an optical communication system with the MC system, and enabling optical fiber cable switching work to be finished in a short time. The monitoring device according to the present invention is a monitoring device that monitors an optical communication system in which an OLT and an ONU are connected by a communication optical fiber, and includes: an optical receiver for receiving a signal beam transmitted by the ONU from the communication optical fiber; and an OAM frame analysis unit for extracting, from the signal beam received by the optical receiver, an OAM frame at a MEG level at which the ONU and the OLT are set as monitoring end points, and acquiring a transmission source address and a MEG-ID that identifies a MEG in the OAM frame.

Monitoring device

An optical element module is equipped with a casing, an optical element provided inside the casing, a pipe which communicates the inside of the casing to the outside, and a primary coated optical fiber which is inserted through the pipe and connected to the optical element.

An optical connector plug according to the present invention which is joined to a front end of an optical fiber cord covering an optical fiber and which is removably inserted to one end of an optical adapter having a locking member for locking the optical connector plug in an engaged state, includes an inserted portion removably inserted to one end of the optical adapter, a plug body joined to a front end of the optical fiber cord, a locking portion formed between the plug body and the inserted portion and locked by the locking member of the optical adapter, and a rotational phase reference surface formed on the plug body away from the locking portion. The optical connector plug according to the present invention can be applied to APC optical connector plug, secure high reliability for optical cross-connecting, and also reduce cost.

Optical fiber cross-connect with a connection block, an alignment block and a handling device

An optical fiber distribution module having a connection board, optical connector adaptors and a storage section is provided. An array of the optical connector adaptors forms the connection board, where the optical connectors connect in-use optical fibers. The storage section, located in a separate section of the module, stores optical fibers which are not-in use. The optical fiber distribution module also includes a plurality of cord sorting boards having a plurality of fiber cord passageways. The fiber cord passageways are configured to accommodate and retain at least one optical fiber such that the optical fiber is arranged between the connection board and the storage section. In addition, both the in-use and not-in use optical fibers insert into the fiber cord passageway. The in-use optical fibers connect to the optical connector adaptors and the not-in use optical fibers are stored in the storage section as the in-use optical fibers and the not-in use optical fibers are inserted within the fiber cord passageways.

Optical fiber distribution module for holding an optical fiber cord and fiber distribution system using optical fiber cords

A small-size large-capacity optical switch in which the switch switching control structure is simple and the switch switching efficiency is excellent. A plurality of fiber accommodating grooves (4) are formed on a grooved board (1) and stationary side optical fibers (5) are held and aligned in the fiber accommodating grooves (4) to form a fiber array unit (8). The fiber array units (8) are laminated with a space therebetween. A master fiber (10) is arranged so as to correspond to the fiber array unit (8) of each stage and the master fiber (10) of each stage is supported and secured by a common master fiber supporter (12). Movement of the master fiber supporter (12) is controlled by fiber movement control means (13) only in a direction in which the fiber accommodating grooves (4) are aligned. When the master fiber (10) is moved to a position directly above the fiber accommodating groove (4) accommodating the stationary side optical fiber (5) to be connected to the master fiber (10), by pushing the master fiber (10) to the fiber accommodating groove (4) and holding it, the master fiber 10 is connected to the stationary side optical fiber (5) to be connected to the master fiber (10).

Optical switch

A light pulse generator is disclosed comprising an optical main-loop, a pumped-light source, a delay optical fiber, and an optical switch controller. The optical main-loop circulates a light and includes a light mixer, a light isolator, an erbium-doped optical fiber, an optical switch, a light divider, and an optical fiber coupler. The pumped-light source generates a pumped-light and introduces the pumped-light into the optical main-loop through the light mixer. The terminals of the delay optical fiber are connected to the optical fiber coupler so as to form an optical sub-loop for spreading a pulse width of a light pulse circulating in the optical main-loop. The optical switch controller switches the optical switch to an ON-state. As a result, a positive feedback amplification is carried out in the optical main-loop and an output light pulse having a sufficiently long pulse width and sufficiently high power is picked up from the optical loop through the light divider.

Light pulse generator

A light pulse generator is disclosed comprising an optical loop, a pumped-light source, and an optical switch controller. The optical loop includes a light mixer, a light isolator, an erbium-doped optical fiber, a light valve means, and a light divider. The pumped-light source generates a pumped-light and introduces the pumped-light into the optical loop through the light mixer. The optical switch controller progressively turns the optical switch to an ON-state using a control signal having a gentle positive slope so that the amount of a light outputted through the optical switch is gently increased in accordance with the gentle slope of the control signal. The length of time of the positive slope of the control signal equals the time which is required for circulating a light pulse through the optical loop through one cycle. A circulation of a light pulse is carried out in the optical loop while the optical switch is in the ON-state and the light pulse having a gentle slope is picked up from the optical loop through the light divider.
