The present invention is a flame retardant polyester resin composition that contains 3 to 74% by mass of a polybutylene terephthalate resin (A), 3 to 60% by mass of a polyethylene terephthalate resin (B1), 3 to 50% by mass of a copolyester resin (B2), 10 to 50% by mass of a halogen-free flame retardant (C), and 10 to 40% by mass of a glass fiber (D), wherein the copolyester resin (B2) is a polyester resin obtained by copolymerizing an ethylene terephthalate unit with at least one selected from the group consisting of neopentyl glycol, 1,2-propanediol, diethylene glycol, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and isophthalic acid, and that satisfies prescribed characteristics.

Flame retardant polyester resin composition and molded article comprising same

The present invention is a thermoplastic polyester resin composition which in a composition including an inorganic-reinforcing material such as glass fiber, maintains a good surface appearance while having high strength and high stiffness, has little warpage deformation, and generates very little burr; and an inorganic-reinforced thermoplastic polyester resin composition comprising 20 to 60% by mass of a polybutylene terephthalate resin (A), 5 to 20% by mass of an amorphous resin (B), 30 to 60% by mass of an inorganic-reinforcing material (C), 0.5 to 10% by mass of an ethylene-glycidyl (meth)acrylate copolymer (D), and 0.05 to 2% by mass of a transesterification inhibitor (E), wherein the composition has a melt viscosity of no less than 0.5 kPa·s and no more than 1.5 kPa·s at 265° C. and a shear rate of 10 sec.

Inorganic-reinforced thermoplastic polyester resin composition and molded products comprising same

A pellet production method comprising: an operation in which a strand comprising a composition containing thermoplastic resin and reinforcing material is extruded from an orifice at a die; an operation in which the strand is drawn into water within a tank and is cooled; and an operation in which the cooled strand is cut to obtain a pellet; wherein at least one first guide roller for guiding the strand within the tank is provided within the tank, and an angle made by portions of the strand that are ahead of and behind that first guide roller which is in an upstreammost location is not less than 90° but is less than 180°; and wherein a ratio of a diameter of the pellet to a diameter of the orifice (diameter of the pellet/diameter of the orifice) is 0.45 to 0.80.

Pellet production method

A pellet production method comprising: an operation in which a strand comprising a glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide resin composition containing 50 mass % to 80 mass % of glass fiber is extruded from an orifice at a die; an operation in which the strand is drawn into water within a tank and is cooled; and an operation in which the cooled strand is cut to obtain a pellet; wherein an angle of incidence at which the strand enters the water within the tank is not less than 70° but is less than 90°; and wherein a ratio of a diameter of the pellet to a diameter of the orifice (diameter of the pellet/diameter of the orifice) is 0.65 to 0.97.

The present invention is a polyamide resin composition which contains 50 to 90% by mass of a crystalline polyamide resin (A) and 9 to 49% by mass of a talc (B). The average particle size of secondary particles of the talc (B) in the polyamide resin composition is 30 μm or less. The polyamide resin composition has an exothermic peak present on a high temperature side of a maximum exothermic peak of a crystallization temperature during cooling in a cooling process of measurement by means of a differential scanning calorimeter. Variations in physical characteristics such as a molding shrinkage, mechanical characteristics, and a heat distortion temperature of the polyamide resin composition are suppressed among different production machines or different production lots. Consequently, characteristics within desired ranges are stably obtained.

Polyamide resin composition

The present invention is a polyamide resin composition containing 50 to 90% by mass of a crystalline polyamide resin (A) and 9 to 49% by mass of a talc (B), and preferably further containing a coupling agent (C) and a fatty acid metal salt (D), in which an average particle size of secondary particles of the talc (B) in the polyamide resin composition is greater than 30 μm. The polyamide resin composition is less likely to cause a poor appearance of a molded article or occurrence of sink marks, and can stably provide characteristics within desired ranges.

A polyamide resin composition containing a polyimide resin (A), a modified styrene-based copolymer (B), a modified high-density polyethylene (C), and an aliphatic metal salt (D), and having a melt mass flow rate (MFR) of 20 g/10 minutes or more and less than 60 g/10 minutes and a 65% RH equilibrium water absorption rate of less than 3%. The polyamide resin composition can form a molded article having a sufficiently high limit of fatigue against continuous load, achieve high mechanical characteristics and high fluidity to prevent the occurrence of a short shot or decrease in the strength of a welded part even in a large and/or thick molded article, and has excellent mold releasability and more excellent abrasion resistance than ever before.
