Provided are a polymethylpentene conjugate fiber, which is capable of imparting to a lightweight polymethylpentene fiber an ability to develop a vivid and deep color, and a porous polymethylpentene fiber, which has a lightweight, a high pore diameter uniformity and a high porosity retention ratio against an external force, said polymethylpentene conjugate fiber and said porous polymethylpentene fiber being appropriately usable as a fiber structure for woven knitted goods, non-woven fabrics, yarns, cotton waddings, etc. The polymethylpentene conjugate fiber is characterized by having an island-in-sea structure wherein the sea component comprises a polymethylpentene-based resin and the island component comprises a thermoplastic resin. The porous polymethylpentene fiber, which comprises a polymethylpentene-based resin, is characterized in that the coefficient of variation (CV) of pore diameter at the fiber cross section is 1-50%.

This invention provides fibers made from a thermoplastic cellulose ester composition, which can maintain excellent mechanical properties still after high temperature dyeing treatment, especially suitable as fibers mixed with polyester fibers or as fabrics woven or knitted together with polyester fibers, and also provides the thermoplastic cellulose ester composition constituting the fibers. For example, this invention provides a thermoplastic cellulose ester composition containing at least 70 to 95 wt % of a cellulose fatty acid mixed ester with an average substitution degree of 2.4 to 2.8, 5 to 25 wt % of a plasticizer and 1 to 10 wt % of a cellulose acetate with an average substitution degree of 2.3 to 2.6, and also provides fibers made from the thermoplastic cellulose ester composition.

A fabric consisting of a cellulose mixed ester fiber having an appropriate strength, fiber diameter, uniformity of fineness, and Tg, is used. A fiber consisting of 80 to 95 wt % of said cellulose mixed ester and 5 to 20 wt % of one or more water-soluble plasticizers selected from the group of polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, poly(ethylene-propylene) glycol, and end-capped polymers produced from them, is produced and said water-soluble plasticizers are removed by aqueous treatment to improve the heat resistance and strength, thereby providing a fabric having beautiful appearance achieved by color development properties and uniform fineness.

A thermoplastic cellulose derivative composition of the present invention contains, as a main component, a cellulose ester having an aliphatic polyester side chain having a repeat unit having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, wherein a rate of heating loss at 200&#xb0; C. is 5 wt % or less, a melt viscosity at 200&#xb0; C. and 1000 secis 50 to 300 Pa&#xb7;sec, and a melt tension at the time of take-up at 200&#xb0; C. and 100 m/min is 0.1 to 40 mN. The present invention can provide excellent fiber products by melt spinning of the composition.
