Provided is a method for manufacturing a gasket-constituting plate made of metal, in which a folded-back part whose thickness is set to be less than the thickness of a general part is provided at a periphery of a combustion chamber hole. The method includes, with a raw metal plate being held between a blank holder and a drawing die having an extrusion hole, extruding the raw metal plate in a thickness direction thereof by using a drawing punch as an extrusion tool to form a projecting part in the raw metal plate, and causing a tensile force to act on the raw metal plate due to the extrusion so as to elongate the raw metal plate, to form a thin peripheral wall part at an outer peripheral portion of the projecting part.

Method for manufacturing gasket-constituting plate

A metal gasket for use between heads and blocks of an internal combustion engine in which such gasket is composed of a beaded plate and a stopper plate placed one on top of the other. The metal gasket has an opening corresponding to the cylinder hold of the engine. The metal gasket has an annular stopper formed by folding back the periphery of the opening in the stopper plate. The metal gasket also has a stepped part along the outer periphery of the stopper. This stepped part projects toward the side of the gasket on which the stopper is formed. The metal gasket also has a spacer layer formed between the stopper and an annular pressure receiver of the stopper plate. The metal gasket also has a rubber coating layer formed at least on that side of the stopper plate opposite to the side on which the stopper is formed.

Metal gasket

A metal gasket comprising a least one gasket sheet, wherein a hardness lowering region having a locally lowered hardness is formed in the gasket sheet in at least either a portion to be set to have a large elongation or a portion to be lowered in a spring constant. Also disclosed is a metal gasket manufacturing process comprising: the step of forming an opening of a desired size in registration with a cylinder bore in an elastic metal sheet as a material for making a gasket sheet composing a metal gasket; the step of annealing a portion, as corresponding to the first hardness lowering region in the gasket sheet, of the elastic metal sheet; and the step of forming a folded portion by folding back the vicinity of the opening.

Metal gasket and process for manufacturing the same

A sealing structure for sealing a valve body from a separating plate in a liquid-tight fashion. A first sealing layer is printed on the mating surface of the separate plate and a second sealing layer is printed along the first sealing layer with at least a part of the second sealing layer overlapping the first sealing layer and the printing height of the second sealing layer being made larger than that of the first sealing layer whereby the valve body and the separate plate are sealed liquid-tight from each other by a sealing portion comprising the first and second sealing layers. The sealing portion provided by the sealing structure of the present invention has the advantages that it hardly comes off, has an excellent sealing property and is capable of reducing the width thereof to meet a design change.

Sealing structure

A seal structure and capable of reducing a width of a seal portion as much as possible while preventing the seal portion from being broken away. The seal structure for sealing between two members in a fluid-tight or air-tight manner is structured such that the seal portion is formed in at least one of joint surfaces of the two members by continuously printing along a seal portion of the joint portions and that a recess portion or a groove is formed at a middle portion of the seal portion in a widthwise direction.

An inexpensive metal gasket with high sealing performance having a multiple-plate or single-plate structure to be placed between the cylinder block and the cylinder head, said metal gasket having on one side or both sides of the beaded plate or the stiffening plate the coating layer formed by pattern printing in conformity with the bead and the stopper. The coating layer includes at least two types of coatings located at different areas on the gasket.

An inexpensive metal gasket with high sealing performance is provided. A metal gasket 10 of multiple-plate or single-plate structure to be placed between the cylinder block 1 and the cylinder head 4, said metal gasket having on one side or both sides of the beaded plate 11 or the stiffening plate the coating layer 30 formed by pattern printing in conformity with the bead 16 and the stopper 22.
