A steering gear apparatus of the rack-and-pinion type including a pinion formed with helical teeth and a rack member formed with helical teeth which are brought into meshing engagement with the helical teeth of the pinion in such a manner that a steering effort is applied to the meshed portion of the helical teeth of the pinion and rack member at a predetermined angle relative to an axis line of the rack member, the rack member being resiliently biased toward the pinion, wherein the helical teeth of the pinion or the rack member each are formed with a tip portion to be brought into engagement with each root of the helical teeth of the rack member or the pinion.

Steering gear apparatus of rack-and-pinion type

A cylinder-head cover for use in an internal combustion engine, which effectively separates oil and contaminants from blowby gas-oil mixture prior to the time when the blowby gas-oil mixture is suctioned into an intake passage. The cylinder-head cover has extension portions which extend in its lateral direction, and is attached by a curved plate onto its back side, thereby forming a space between the cylinder-head cover and the curved plate. The curved plate has grooves which extends in zigzags relative to its longitudinal direction. The blowby gas-oil mixture passes through the space defined between the cylinder-head cover and the curved plate. As the volume of the space is repeatedly large and small, the flow speed of the blowby gas-oil mixture reduces at the place where the space is large. Hence, the oil or contaminants drop by its weight. Thus, the oil and contaminants, which are contained in the blowby gas, are separated.

A holder for use in cutting the outside surface of a cylindrical blank, the inner bottom of which has a concave spherical seat, to make said outside surface concentric with said concave spherical seat, characterized in that a rotatable shaft of a smaller outside diameter than the inner diameter of said blank and having a tip bearing against said concave spherical seat is provided longitudinally with three equi-distant grooves. A concave spherical surface is formed at the bottom of each of said grooves and this surface has a concave spherical surface of radius R with its axis running at right angles to the longitudinal direction of said rotatable shaft. In each groove of said shaft is slidably inserted an expansion pawl having at its top a projection bearing against the inside surface of said blank and having at its bottom a convex spherical surface of radius r (R &gt; r). The invention includes a method of correcting concentricity by using said holder.
