Provided are an image analysis method, an image analysis device, a program, and a recording medium capable of accurately estimating an image signal value of an object color-developed by using a specific coloring material by using an image signal value of a color chip. The embodiment of the present invention acquires a spectral characteristic of an object color-developed by using a specific coloring material, acquires a spectral characteristic of each of a plurality of color chips formed of coloring materials different from the specific coloring material, approximates the spectral characteristic of the object by using an approximation expression including the spectral characteristic of each of the plurality of color chips as variables, acquires an image signal value, which is obtained by imaging each of the plurality of color chips by an imaging device and which corresponds to color of a captured image, for each color chip, and estimates the image signal value, which is obtained in a case where the object is imaged by the imaging device, based on the acquired image signal value for each color chip and the approximation expression.

A light source unit and a display device that are further thinned while evenness in brightness on an emission surface is secured are provided. A light source unit and a display device of the present invention include a light source installation surface on which at least one micro light source is installed, a base that is arranged with the light source installation surface and has a light-transmitting property, a reflection pattern that is formed on a first surface of the base positioned on a light source installation surface side based on light distribution characteristics of the at least one micro light source, and a low reflection pattern that is formed in a region of the light source installation surface positioned around the at least one micro light source based on the light distribution characteristics. A reflectivity in the region of the light source installation surface in which the low reflection pattern is formed is less than a reflectivity in a region other than the region in which the low reflection pattern is formed.

Objects of the present invention are to facilitate filling out by hand an electronic paper and to realize digitization of contents with which the electronic paper is filled out by hand with a simple structure. A read image is obtained by optically reading a reading-object of the electronic paper. Based on the document information written on the electronic paper and writing-conditions during document writing, which are represented by the document information, a display image of the document in accordance with the read image information is formed. Electric paper reading system

An object of the invention is to obtain a high-quality image by reading an image of an electronic paper with high accuracy. When optically copying the electronic paper, a controller reads out display characteristics such as a reading resolution and a reading light quantity from a display characteristic memory of the electronic paper. The controller performs optical copying processing after setting optimal conditions on the basis of the display characteristics which have been read out from the display characteristic memory.

A holding stand is constituted by a carrying case for holding sheets of electronic paper and a base for uprightly supporting the carrying case that is substantially vertical. From the holding stand, two page fields, each expressing the number of pages of sheets of electronic paper to be displayed and position page field expressing a current page position of electronic paper and incremented on each of the sheets, are added to image data, and the image data is output to the sheets of electronic paper. In each sheets, when the two page fields coincide with each other in comparison between the two page fields, an image based on the image data is displayed in a display region. When the two page fields are different from each other, the position page field is incremented by one, and the position page field is transmitted to the next electronic paper.

Electronic paper reading system

The hard copy has a transparent coat layer which is formed on an image recording surface of a recording medium on a side of which an image is recorded and covers at least a part of the image recording surface. The transparent coat layer has asperities corresponding to three-dimensional information of the image, materials of objects forming the image, or density variation in the surface area of the image. The size, shape, spacing, height or other features of the asperities can be varied. The hard copy creation method records the image on the recording medium on the side of the image recording surface and then forms on the image recording surface the transparent coat layer having the asperities. The hard copy is created by first printing the image, and then forming on the image a transparent coat layer with the asperities.

An image reading apparatus and method are provided which precisely correct shading due to dispersion of the spectral sensitivity characteristic of a reading area of a reading device. Second correction values for correcting, for each of R, G and B, shading due to partial dispersion of spectral characteristics of color separation filters are respectively set and stored for each film type and for each of a plurality of blocks forming an image, on the basis of results of reading a film for correction value setting. Then, from the stored second correction values, correction values corresponding to a type of a film which is an object of reading are retrieved to derive correction values for each pixel by interpolation. The derived correction values for each pixel are added to first correction values for correcting shading due to irregularity in the amount of light or the like.

When using a digital still camera to sense and capture an image of a medium with a bar code being recorded thereon for indication of information to be input to the digital still camera (such as information indicative of photographing conditions and/or information representing processing conditions of image processing), judgment is done to determine whether a region equivalent to the bar code is present within an image, and then a region equivalent to the bar code is extracted for analyzation of coded information as indicated by such bar code; if no contradiction is found in the coded information then let it be stored in a storage or 'memory' region pursuant to the kind of such coded information. And the information thus stored will be used to perform setting of image pickup conditions and/or setup of image processing condition.

In a digital still camera, it is determined whether a current photographing is performed in a document copy mode provided for precisely photographing a document or bar code, and if not, another determination is made as to whether the current photographing is performed under a particular image capturing condition including a resolution and a photographing distance. Further, if a determination that a paper money or security is photographed is affirmative, a predetermined image is overwritten on an image obtained by the photographing.
