A stable aqueous thrombin solution containing thrombin and a sugar and an amino acid as a stabilizer is disclosed. According to the present invention, there is provided a stable aqueous thrombin solution.

Stable aqueous thrombin solution

An aqueous solution containing fibrinogen is heated in the presence of at least a sugar, an amino acid and a magnesium salt to thereby inactivate virus(es) possibly contaminating said fibrinogen. According to this process, the inactivation of the contaminating viruses can be achieved while maintaining the activity of the fibrinogen. Thus a highly safe fibrinogen preparation of excellent qualities can be prepared on an industrial scale.

A fibrinolytic activity enhancer for signal-chain pro-urokinase comprising plasminogen as an active ingredient is disclosed. The fibrinolytic activity enhancer of the present invention enhances the fibrinolytic activity of single-chain pro-urokinase without causing systemic fibrinolysis.
