A thermal flowmeter includes: a first thermal resistive element disposed on a pipe and sensing a first temperature of a fluid; a second thermal resistive element disposed on the pipe downstream relative to the first thermal resistive element and sensing a second temperature thereof; a control unit causing the second thermal resistive element to generate heat so that the second temperature is kept higher than the first temperature by a predetermined value; a power measurement unit measuring a power supplied to the second thermal resistive element; a temperature difference gradient calculation unit calculating a gradient of a difference between the second and first temperatures; a power compensation unit compensating the measured power based on the gradient of the difference and a value of the power when no fluid is in the pipe; and a flow rate calculation unit calculating a flow rate of the fluid based on the compensated power.

A thermal flowmeter includes a casing, a ferrule, a measuring tube penetrating through the ferrule, a sensor for flow rate detection, a joint shaft movably supported by end portions of the casing, one end portion of the joint shaft being connected to the measuring tube and the ferrule with a through hole of the joint shaft and a hollow portion of the measuring tube communicating with each other, the other end portion of the joint shaft sticking out of the casing, and a screw thread-fitted to each of the end portions of the casing, and including a pressing portion pressing the joint shaft into an inside of the casing. A seal structure includes a first tapered surface formed on the ferrule and a second tapered surface formed on the joint shaft and fitting the first tapered surface, and is provided between the ferrule and the joint shaft.

Thermal flowmeter

A thermal type flowmeter includes a sensor and a flow-rate calculating unit. The sensor includes a heater that heats a fluid to be measured. The sensor is configured to output a sensor value corresponding to a state of thermal diffusion in the fluid heated by the heater which is being driven in such a manner that a difference between a temperature of the heater and a temperature of the fluid at a location free from thermal influence of the heater is equal to a predetermined temperature difference. The flow-rate calculating unit is configured to calculate a flow rate of the fluid from the sensor value by using a flow-rate calculation equation, 'sensor value=transformation coefficient A&#xd7;log (flow rate)+transformation coefficient B&#xd7;log (flow rate)+transformation coefficient C'.

An excitation circuit, which is used in an electromagnetic flow meter, measures a flow rate value for a fluid, based on an electromotive force. An excitation coil, which is provided on an outside of a measurement tube, is supplied with an excitation current, where, in response, the electromotive force, which is perpendicular to a magnetic field of the excitation coil that is generated in the fluid within the measurement tube, is detected by a pair of electrodes provided on the measurement tube.

Electromagnetic flowmeter

The surface of a signal electrode is treated as substrate treatment. An oxide film on the surface of the signal electrode is removed by roughing. The roughened surface is used as a surface treated face. A coating of fluororesin is provided on the surface treated face for lining or thermal welding to the lining material. A signal electrode is provided in the resin lining. Since the oxide film was removed from the surface of the signal electrode for roughening, the adhesive force of the coating of the fluororesin is increased. The fluororesin coating and the resin lining melt each other, and the fluororesin coating is strongly bonded to the resin lining. The adhesion between the signal electrode and the resin lining is increased without opening a hole in the signal electrode. A method uses a primer film formed by substrate treatment on the surface of the signal electrode.

A highly corrosion resistant high strength stainless steel pipe for linepipe, having a composition containing about 0.001 to about 0.015% C, about 0.01 to about 0.5% Si, about 0.1 to about 1.8% Mn, about 0.03% or less P, about 0.005% or less S, about 15 to about 18% Cr, about 0.5% or more and less than about 5.5% Ni, about 0.5 to about 3.5% Mo, about 0.02 to about 0.2% V, about 0.001 to about 0.015% N, and about 0.006% or less O, by mass, so as to satisfy (Cr+0.65 Ni +0.6Mo+0.55Cu&#x2212;20C&#x2267;18.5), (Cr+Mo+0.3Si&#x2212;43.5C&#x2212;0.4Mn&#x2212;Ni&#x2212;0.3Cu&#x2212;9 N&#x2267;11.5) and (C+N&#x2266;0.025). Preferably quenching and tempering treatment is applied to the pipe. The composition may further contain about 0.002 to about 0.05% Al, and may further contain one or more of Nb, Ti, Zr, B, and W, and/or Cu and Ca. The microstructure preferably contains martensite, ferrite, and residual &#x3b3;.

Highly anticorrosive high strength stainless steel pipe for linepipe and method for manufacturing same

A stainless steel pipe for use in oil wells which has a high strength having a YS of 654 MPa or more and superior corrosion resistance even in a severe corrosive environment in which COand are present and the temperature is high, such as up to 230&#xb0; C. The pipe contains on a mass percent basis: 0.005% to 0.05% of C; 0.05% to 0.5% of Si; 0.2% to 1.8% of Mn; 0.03% or less of P; 0.005% or less of S; 15.5% to 18% of Cr; 1.5% to 5% of Ni; 1% to 3.5% of Mo; 0.02% to 0.2% of V; 0.01% to 0.15% of N; 0.006% or less of 0; and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, in which Cr+0.65Ni+0.6Mo+0.55Cu&#x2212;20C&#x2267;19.5 and Cr+Mo+0.3Si&#x2212;43.5C&#x2212;0.4Mn&#x2212;Ni&#x2212;0.3Cu&#x2212;9N&#x2267;11.5 are satisfied (where Cr, Ni, Mo, Cu, C, Si, Mn, and N represent the respective contents on a mass percent basis). In addition, quenching treatment and tempering treatment are preferably performed, so that the pipe preferably has a texture containing a martensite phase as a primary phase and 10 to 60 percent by volume of a ferrite phase, or further containing 30 percent by volume or less of an austenite phase. Furthermore, at least one of Al, Cu, Nb, Ti, Zr, W, B, and Ca may also be contained.
