The operation torque during disengaging of clutch projections out of clutch grooves, is effectively suppressed from excessively increasing immediately after start of device assembling. In a door mirror device, a gear plate has clutch grooves made substantially in trapezoidal form, in circumferential cross-section, increasing in width from a groove bottom to an opening end. A clutch disk has clutch projections made substantially in trapezoidal form, in circumferential cross-section, decreasing in width in taper form from a base toward a tip wherein the top surfaces are made in an inverted radial form decreasing in width from inner periphery to outer periphery. Due to this, when a torque exceeding a set value is transmitted to the gear plate, the pressure-contact area of the clutch projection with the clutch groove gradually moves from inner periphery to outer periphery while moving the clutch disk upward against a bias force of a clutch spring.

Vehicular mirror device

A retracting mechanism for storing or erecting a mirror includes, at a coupled portion of an output shaft of a drive motor and a worm gear, coupling retaining portions fitted together in a press-fitted state and rotational force transmitting portions opposing each other in a state where a predetermined gap is present between them. The coupling retaining portions are configured by a circular shaft portion and a circular fitting hole, and the rotational force transmitting portions are configured by a double D-cut portion and double D-protruding portions. The rotational force of the output shaft is transmitted by the rotational force transmitting portions, and the coupled state of the output shaft and the worm gear is retained on the same axial line and the slanting of the worm gear is prevented by the coupling retaining portions.

Retracting mechanism of vehicular outer mirror device

A mirror device for a vehicle which is equipped with a mirror surface angle adjusting mechanism. In a door mirror device for a vehicle, a load is applied to a rod drive in an axial direction, a claw member elastically deforms, and an engagement valley of the rod drive rides up over an engagement projection provided at a distal end of the claw member and is moved. Here, given that angles of inclination of two surfaces of the engagement valley, at a mirror side and at a side opposite the mirror, with respect to a direction orthogonal to an axis of the rod drive, are respectively &thgr;1 and &thgr;2, &thgr;1>&thgr;2. In this way, two loads for manually moving the rod drive toward a side opposite the mirror and toward the mirror side can be made to approach substantially a same magnitude.

Mirror device for vehicle

A mirror surface angle adjusting device is provided which can be used at both left and right outer mirror devices of a vehicle. At a mirror driving unit, positional relationships between respective points (fulcrum of swinging A and A first adjusting points B and B second adjusting points C and C first mounting points D and D second mounting points E and E and third mounting points F and F ) are set such that the points have line symmetry with respect to 45&deg; direction reference lines P P Accordingly, from a functional standpoint as well, there are no obstacles at a time of mounting, and as a result, a same type of mirror driving unit can be used at both a left door mirror device and a right door mirror device.

Mirror surface angle adjusting device

In a door mirror assembly for a vehicle, a case is supported at a door mirror stay provided at a vehicle door and mounted to a door mirror visor, whereby the door mirror visor is disposed above the door mirror stay. An overlap portion provided at the case and an overlap portion provided at an opening of the door mirror visor are overlapped one above the other and mounted, and a gap between the opening of the door mirror visor and the lower part of the case is thus stopped. Therefore, generation of wind noises caused by wind entering through the gap between the opening of the door mirror visor and the lower part of the case while a vehicle is in motion can be prevented.

Mirror assembly

A connection arrangement for a mirror back supporting plate and a mirror support member in a mirror case for an automobile outer mirror assembly comprises a connecting portion of the mirror back supporting plate being held between a connecting portion of the mirror support member and a clutch member and these members being connected to each other by a connecting member. The connecting member extends through a through-hole of the clutch member and also through a through-hole of the mirror back supporting plate. After being passed through the through-holes, the connecting member is rotated 90 degrees about its axis so that it is mounted to the mirror back supporting plate. Therefore, the mirror back supporting plate and the mirror supporting member can be easily connected together.

Automobile outer mirror assembly

In a foldable mirror provided with a mirror case foldable around rotary members on a mirror stay, a manual angle adjusting device for tilting a mirror accommodated in the mirror case, comprises a penetrating shaft vertically movably and rotatably mounted on the rotary members, a clutch member for moving a connecting portion between the clutch member and a mirror holder vertically and for rotating the connecting portion around the shaft in one unit therewith or independently, a first connecting member which is secured on the shaft rotates around it and moves vertically, second connecting members provided with a connecting shaft and a bent portion having one end connected thereto and the other end for engagement with the first connecting member so that the bent portion and the first connecting member are rotatable in opposite directions to each other and movable vertically, a third connecting member secured on the connecting shaft and movable vertically and rotatable around it, and an operating lever for connecting the third connecting member thereto so that the lever and the third connecting member are movable vertically and rotatable in opposite directions to each other.

Mirror angle adjusting arrangement

An electric remote-controlled rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror pivotally supported by a three point pivot connection of which the center pivot connection is stationary to permit angular movement of the mirror therearound. The remaining two pivot connections are spaced a predetermined angle from each other about the center pivot connection and are connected to rod members which are individually actuatable for longitudinal movement by at least one electric reversible motor to thereby positively angularly adjust the mirror around the center pivot connection. The drive of the motor is transmitted to the rod members through nut members. The rod members is made of an elastic material with providing threads whereas the nut members is made of a rigid material with providing teeth to be meshed with the threads of the rod members.

Electric remote control rearview mirror

An electric remote-controlled rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror pivotally supported by a three point pivot connection of which the center pivot connection is stationary to permit angular movement of the mirror therearound. The remaining two pivot connections are spaced a predetermined angle from each other about the center pivot connection and are connected to rod members which are individually actuatable for longitudinal movement by at least one electric reversible motor to thereby positively angularly adjust the mirror around the center pivot connection. The drive of the motor is transmitted to the rod members through nut members. Either one of the rod members and the nut members is made of an elastic material whereas the other of the rod members and the nut members is made of a rigid material. The use of pairs of pinch roller instead of the nut members is also disclosed.

A locking device for seatbelt systems including a rotatable locking base with a wavy surface, a locking member provided adjacent the rotatable locking base and which is movable such that it engages with the locking base, a seatbelt portion which extends between the rotatable locking base and the locking member having an arm member with a wavy surface which senses the tension on such seatbelt portion and which engages with the locking member such that the locking member is caused to move when the arm member senses a tension on said seatbelt portion which is greater than a predetermined tension and such that the locking member presses the seatbelt portion against the rotatable base across its entire width when the locking member is caused to move by the arm member.

Locking device for seatbelt systems

Tension at the intermediate portion of a restraining webbing is detected by tension detecting means to sense the condition of a webbing fastened to an occupant, whereby the movement of the webbing is prevented when said webbing is fastened to the occupant, to thereby prevent the tension of the webbing from acting on the occupant during driving.

Webbing locking mechanism

A locking device for seatbelt systems including a fixed locking base, a locking member provided adjacent the fixed locking base and which is movable such that it engages with the locking base, a seatbelt portion which extends between the fixed locking base and the locking member and an arm member which senses the tension on such seatbelt portion and which engages with the locking member such that the locking member is caused to move when the arm member senses a tension on said seatbelt portion which is greater than a predetermined tension and such that the locking member presses the seatbelt portion against the fixed base across its entire width when the locking member is caused to move by the arm member.

One end of a webbing for restraining an occupant is wound up by a retractor installed on a door so that the webbing can be fitted to or released from the occupant seated as the door is closed or opened. An engaging portion is formed on the retractor and an engageable portion for receiving said engaging portion when the door is closed is provided in the body of vehicle, said engaging and engageable portions imparting a high tension of the webbing to the body of vehicle during an emergency of the vehicle, so that the webbing can reliably restrain the occupant.

Seatbelt system

A seatbelt system which automatically fastens and unfastens a passenger restraining belt about a passenger including a slider to which is fastened one end of the passenger restraining belt, a guide rail fastened along the body of the vehicle which guides the slider and which has one portion which is vertical, a drive system for moving the slider along the guide rail, a pawl for engagement with the slider when the slider is guided into the vertical portion of the guide rail and an acceleration detector for causing the pawl to engage with the slider during a vehicular emergency whereby movement of the slider is prevented and the belt is maintained in a fastened condition even during a vehicular roll over.

A seatbelt locking device for seatbelt systems including an arm rotatably supported on a frame which rotatably supports a seatbelt retractor shaft. One end of the arm contacts an unretracted portion of the seatbelt and detects the tension on the unretracted portion of the seatbelt. The arm, seatbelt and frame are arranged and configured such that the seatbelt is clamped and securely locked between the end of the arm and the frame when the tension of the seatbelt exceeds some predetermined amount during a vehicular emergency.
