A connecting device for use in a tape recorder comprises a plug member arranged to be connected to an external load and includes a conductive sleeve, a conductive tip provided therein and a movable pin projecting at the end portion of the tip. The device also includes a jack member provided on a housing of an electrical apparatus, including a contact segment provided to contact with the sleeve of the plug tip, switching contact segments provided to separate from each other by action of the tip, and another contact segment provided to contact with the pin so as to supply source voltage to the external load through the pin of the plug member.

Connecting device

A tape run speed-changing circuit which comprises a motor driven at a speed conforming to any tape run speed for the recording or playback mode and also at a speed matching any tape run speed for the cue or review mode, a first tape run speed-changing device for specifying any tape run speed for the cue or review mode, and a second tape run speed-changing device which selects any tape run speed for the recording or playback mode and whose operation mode is changed over interlockingly with that of the first tape run speed-changing device. When the second tape run speed-changing means device specifies a first tape run speed for the recording or playback mode, then the first tape run speed-changing means device selects a first tape run speed for the cue or review mode; and when the second tape run speed-changing device specifies a second tape run speed for the recording or playback mode, then the first tape run speed-changing device selects a second tape run speed for the cue or review mode.

Tape run speed-changing circuit

An electronic counter circuit counts pulse signals generated according to the rotation of a takeup shaft of a tape recorder to display a value corresponding to a run of a tape. In the electronic counter circuit, a power supply voltage is supplied to a counter through a voltage stabilizing circuit and a switching circuit is connected between the voltage stabilizing circuit and a power supply for electrically interrupting power to the voltage stabilizing circuit a predetermined time after a motor is electrically interrupted to cause the rotation of the takeup shaft to be stopped.

Electronic counter circuit for tape recorder

An apparatus for moving the pinch roller and the magnetic head of a tape recorder into their operative positions comprises a small size motor which supplies a drive to a pair of drive and driven members such as the combination of a pinion and a rack. The drive is transmitted via the pair of members to a movable member which carries the pinch roller and magnetic head, thus moving the pinch roller and the magnetic head to their operative positions.

Rotational speed of a flywheel directly coupled with a capstan is detected by a speed detector. The rotational speed data and the reference speed data are supplied to a comparator/arithmetic circuit whereby actual tape running speed relative to the reference speed is calculated. Data outputted from the comparator/arithmetic circuit is supplied to a display device whereby relative value of the actual tape speed with reference to the reference speed is displayed.

A tape ending indicator comprises a flip-flop circuit responsive to a pulse signal derived from a rotating tape for producing a pulse of an increased width, which is applied to one input of an AND circuit which also receives count pulses of a given, constant frequency from a suitable source. The number of count pulses which are contained in the output signal from the AND circuit is counted in order to detect a change of the count above a first value or below a second value as the diameter of the roll of the taken up tape increases or decreases, thereby indicating the ending of the tape.
