An engine-driven work machine system includes an engine; a work machine driven by the engine; a frame supporting the engine and the work machine; and a sound-insulating housing provided on the frame. The sound-insulating housing includes a bottom plate; a pair of opposing sidewall plates extending from the bottom plate with the engine and the work machine therebetween; and a fuel tank connecting upper ends of the sidewall plates. A mounting flange formed around an outer periphery of the fuel tank is superposed on a flat tank-supporting portion formed at the upper ends of the sidewall plates. A downward-facing collar is formed at an outer end of the mounting flange. An upward-facing collar is formed in the tank-supporting portion and arranged inwardly of the downward-facing collar with respect to the sound-insulating housing. A seal member is provided outwardly of the upward-facing collar and between the mounting flange and tank-supporting portion.

Engine-driven work machine system

An engine generator including a soundproofing case that houses an engine and a generator therein. The engine includes an engine-side cooling fan and an engine-side inlet. The generator includes a generator-side cooling fan and a generator-side inlet. The engine generator further includes an engine-side partition and a generator-side partition fixedly disposed within the soundproofing case to define a chamber to be cooled that houses sections of the engine and the generator that are to be cooled, an engine-side air intake chamber that the engine-side inlet faces, and a generator-side air intake chamber that the generator-side inlet faces. The soundproofing case includes a cover part whose inside face is in intimate contact with the outer peripheries of the engine-side and generator-side partitions and has an exhaust vent in a part corresponding to the chamber to be cooled.

Engine generator

A generator set includes a permanent soundproof housing for housing a portable engine generator therein. The portable engine generator has wheels for moving the same and can be operated in the permanent soundproof housing. The portable engine generator can be taken out of the permanent soundproof housing by pulling the portable engine generator out of the permanent soundproof housing in a direction transverse to a direction of advance of the wheels, and thereafter moving the portable engine generator in the direction of advance of the wheels.

Generator set

A portable engine-operated electric generator includes an engine having an output shaft and including heated and unheated components required for operation of the engine, a generator unit having an input shaft and drivable by the engine, the engine and the generator unit being vertically arranged, the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the generator unit being coupled to each other in axial alignment in a vertical direction, and a sound insulating case accommodating the engine and the generator unit and having a horizontal longitudinal axis. The heated and unheated components are separated from each other by, and located on opposite sides of, a plane lying in the vertical direction and in a direction normal to the horizontal longitudinal axis.

Portable engine-operated electric generator

A portable engine-operated working machine includes a pair of frame members each having at least a horizontal top bar and a pair of vertical bars extending downwardly from the opposite ends of the horizontal top bar, a bottom cover interconnecting the lower ends of the frame members, a carrying handle interconnecting the horizontal top bars of the frame members, an engine supported on the bottom cover, and a working unit supported on the bottom cover adjacent to the engine.

Portable engine-operated working machine

A portable engine-generator set is provide, which includes a soundproof cover defining an internal space for housing the components of the engine-generator set. The internal space comprises an intake compartment, a heat source compartment and an exhaust compartment. The heat source compartment comprises first and second sub-compartments which form independent cooling wind passages, each of the sub-compartments having an intake port in communication with the intake compartment. The exhaust compartment has an exhaust port in communication with the atmosphere, and intake ports in communication with the first and second sub-compartments such that air flow from the first and second sub-compartments are combined in the exhaust compartment. The engine and muffler of the engine are positioned in the second sub-compartment and the exhaust gas from the muffler flows into the exhaust compartment and is combined with the flow from the first and second sub-compartments, thereby rapidly cooling the exhaust gas and reducing the noise therefrom. The exhaust compartment includes sound absorbing material on the walls thereof to form a silencer box.

Portable engine-generator set

A clutch interlocking mechanism for use in a pushbutton tuner wherein a drive gear provided on a clutch mechanism is meshed with a rack of a memory slide, a support bracket, on which the clutch mechanism is mounted, is supported, at one side thereof, by a frame on a chassis through a fulcrum pin and, at the opposite side thereof, provided with a tension spring to assure positive engagement of the drive gear with the rack. The clutch interlocking mechanism further comprises a resilient member provided for the fulcrum pin to eliminate looseness at the portion of the fulcrum pin.

A pushbutton tuner wherein a setting plate having a guide slot is fitted in an opening formed on a chassis and adapted to be rotated or fixed by a slide plate interlocked with a button slide, a link having a guide opening is rotatably fitted on the setting plate and a setting arm pivotally connected to the button slide is engaged with the guide slot of the setting plate and the guide opening of the link, the link being operable to displace a memory slide.

Pushbutton tuner

A pushbutton tuner formed of a base unit (A) including a memory slide and operating members for displacing the memory slide upon operation of a push button; a coil unit (B) including a movable member provided with cores displaceable relative to coils; a clutch unit (C) including a clutch mechanism and provided with a rotating shaft for manual tuning operation; and an arm unit (D) including a plurality of button slides fitted with push buttons, respectively, and slidably disposed on a top plate. These units are assembled separately from each other and, then, mounted on a baseplate of the base unit (A).

An operating shaft mechanism in a pushbutton tuner, etc. characterized in that there is formed an enlarged portion in a central portion of a shaft element and the enlarged portion is formed with a plurality of slits in different phases with each other. The enlarged portion thus comprises a plurality of disc portions connected to each other by connecting portions which remain at the bottoms of the slits, thus to be flexible.

Operating shaft mechanism in a pushbutton tuner

A bearing mechanism for clutch shaft, in which a U-shaped fork bracket is secured to the frame side face of a pushbutton-operated tuner, of the right and left arms of said U-shaped fork bracket, to the one on the frame side being formed a V-shaped bearing hole, the portion of clutch shaft on the frame side being received in said V-shaped bearing hole; a circular bearing hole being formed in the opposite arm of said fork bracket, the tapered portion formed on the other end portion of the clutch shaft being fitted in said circular bearing hole.

Clutch mechanism

A pushbutton tuner comprising button slides disposed within a plane in parallel with a baseplate and link members operable by setting pins provided on the respective button slides also disposed within a plane in parallel with the baseplate. A memory slide is displaced by rotation of a free end of each link member when the setting pin moves rearwardly. Each of the link members is so disposed that a line drawn between its portion where it is pivotally connected to the basetable and its portion where it is pivotally engaged with the memory slide is parallel with the rearward movement of the setting pin. The link members each have symmetrically convexed engaging edges at opposite sides thereof. In the position where the link members are disposed on the baseplate so as to be close each other, the setting pins are adapted to act on the adjacent engaging edges of the link members.

This application discloses a marbleized soap bar plodder comprising a multi-thread extruding screw, each of the threads of which extrudes a different colored soap material, and a means for closing one or more of the thread grooves of said extruding screw, wherein said closure means is not fixed to the screw.

An ignition timing control member extends through the center of a first vacuum chamber having a central movable sleeve adapted to be contacted by a flange on the control member to limit movement thereof in a direction to advance the ignition timing. The first vacuum chamber is connected to be responsive to vacuum intensity at a first vacuum outlet communicating with the engine intake passage near the throttle valve and upstream therefrom. The control member is moved by vacuum intensity within a second vacuum chamber connected through a selector valve assembly to a second vacuum outlet connected to the engine intake passage downstream from the throttle valve. An electric switch responsive to vacuum intensity in the first vacuum outlet interrupts an electrical circuit through a solenoid coil forming a part of the selector valve assembly, to cause its valve body to move from a first position connecting the second vacuum chamber to the second vacuum outlet to a second position connecting said second vacuum chamber to atmosphere.

Control system for engine ignition timing

Apparatus to detect deceleration of a motor vehicle having an automatic transmission includes a first electrical switch operated by release of pressure from the accelerator pedal and a second electrical switch operated by application of pressure to the brake pedal. A detector device having an output signal is connected in parallel with the electric switches. The output signal of the detector device is employed to vary the spark timing of an internal combustion engine. In a modification, the electric switches are connected in series.
