An interior body is housed in a tubular exterior body. The interior body includes a spring portion, a movable portion, and a fixing portion, which are integrated together. Elastic arms are disposed on the movable portion so as to extend downward. Each elastic arm includes, at a lower end portion, an elastically pressing portion, which is elastically pressed against a tubular internal surface of the exterior body. Since the elastically pressing portion is elastically pressed against the exterior body, electric signals are more likely to flow between the movable portion and the exterior body and more likely to be prevented from leaking to the spring portion.

In a switch device, a support arm is retained by a conductor plate at one of its ends and by a center terminal at its other end The spring member, which made of an elastic round wire, is placed in a bent form between the conductor plate and the center terminal so as to movably support the conductor plate on the center terminal. The support arm and the spring member are retained by the conductor plate and the center terminal on arc-shaped surfaces.

The present invention provides electronic equipment that can shut off and supply power to a primary power supplying circuit by automatic operations, directly shut off power to the primary power supplying circuit by easy manual operations based on the operator's will, and never fails to zero power consumption of the primary power supplying circuit during no use. The electronic equipment comprises: a primary circuit; a secondary power supplying circuit to which power is supplied from the primary circuit; a control circuit; a switch apparatus provided with a switch; and a capacitor, wherein the switch apparatus includes: an operation member for switching the switch between manual ON and OFF positions and an automatic ON/OFF position in which ON/OFF operations can be automatically performed; and a driving source for automatically operating the switch, wherein, in the automatic ON/OFF position, the driving source is driven by a signal from the control circuit or power supplied from the capacitor to automatically turn the switch ON or OFF, whereby power to the primary power supplying circuit can be automatically supplied or shut off, and wherein the operation member is manually operated to turn the switch ON or OFF, whereby power to the primary circuit can be manually supplied or shut off.

Electronic equipment adapted to reduce power consumption during no operation

An electronic device having an auto-OFF function is disclosed in which a switch unit having an auto-OFF function and capable of being operated manually and automatically is connected to a primary circuit in a power control circuit, the switch unit S,being normally turned auto-OFF with a signal provided from a control system circuit to cut off the supply of electric power to the primary circuit, thereby permitting a stand-by electric power to be nil, and if a trouble should occur in the control system circuit to an inoperable extent of the switch, the switch can be turned OFF manually.

Electronic device having auto-off or auto-on/off function

A connecting structure in a switch device with AC inlet is disclosed wherein, when terminals of the switch device are connected together using a thin metallic connecting strip, there is no fear of an external force on the terminals causing damage to the connection between the terminals and the connecting strip and resulting in unstable contact, and which, even at different thermal expansion coefficients in a power ON condition, ensures a stably held state of the connecting strip and can afford excellent assemblability and reliability of connection. The input device comprises AC inlets having a connecting pin for AC input and also having an inlet terminal for connection, an AC switch having a connecting-side terminal and an output-side terminal, a metallic connecting strip for electrically connecting the inlet terminal of the AC inlets with the connecting-side terminal of the AC switch, and a bracket with the AC inlets and the AC switch attached thereto, the connecting strip being formed of a flat metallic strip and having a bent portion at an intermediate position of the connection between the inlet terminal and the connecting-side terminal of the AC switch.

An improved contact mechanism for a switch is disclosed in which impact between contacts is reduced or moderated to minimize rebound of the contacts thereby to prolong the life of the switch. The contacts are sufficiently spaced apart from each other when the switch is in a stable open position, but when the switch is operated, the movable contact is first moved gradually to an intermediate position toward the fixed contact whereafter it is moved rapidly to the fixed contact over a thus reduced distance.

Contact mechanism for a switch

A slide switch having at least one row of terminals arranged along a substrate has a slider movable along the terminals. The slider carries a movable contact element biased resiliently towards the terminals so as to connect separate pairs of these terminals electrically together during movement of the slider. Each of the terminals has an exposed contact portion having an arcuate surface and the movable contact element has a generally corrugated shape formed by three arcuate protrusions forming convex surfaces facing the terminals and each spaced by trough portions presenting concave surfaces facing the terminals. In this way, the arcuate surfaces of the exposed contact portions can be adapted to fit within the trough portions upon movement of the slider into particular positions so as to stabilize the slider in these positions. Additionally, means are provided for pivoting the movable contact element as it disengages from an exposed contact portion so that the terminal last engages the movable contact portion at a location different than such engagement when the slider is in an associated stable position.
