A communication system provides one or more services using a plurality of virtual networks provisioned in a network. A communication device belonging to at least one of the plurality of virtual networks is provided with service-ID associating information in which a service-ID identifying a service is associated with at least one virtual network identifier each identifying a virtual network that is included in the plurality of virtual networks and is to be used for providing the service. A base station transmits a service-ID association request to the communication device which then returns the stored service-ID associating information to the base station. Thereafter, the base station selects, from among the plurality of virtual networks, at least one virtual network that is to be used for providing a service identified by the service-ID, based on the service-ID associating information, and establishes a connection with the selected at least one virtual network.

Apparatus and method for establishing connections with a plurality of virtual networks

A network apparatus, wherein a bearer is set between the network apparatus and a gateway apparatus connects a radio access network and a core network, including: a tunneling processing unit that encapsulates user data in accordance with a tunneling protocol; a data combining unit that generates combined data in which a plurality of the encapsulated user data to be transmitted to the same the gateway apparatus are combined; a header generation unit that generates a header of the network protocol storing the bearer identifier of the bearer transmitting user data included in the combined data; and a transmission unit that transmits a packet of the combined data having the header added thereto to the gateway apparatus.

Congestion occurrence in a communication network is controlled when performing data transmission based on a first protocol between a first edge node and a second edge node. The first edge node detects a first congestion state identifying a congestion state of the first edge node, and sets first congestion information identifying the detected first congestion state to a packet that is to be transmitted from the first edge node to the second edge node. The first edge node transmits the packet having the first information to the second edge node at the time when the first edge node performs data transmission based on a second protocol from the first edge node to the second edge node, wherein the second protocol is a connectionless protocol positioned at a protocol layer higher than the first protocol.

Apparatus and method for controlling congestion occurrence in a communication network

A mobile station-side acquirer acquires the MTU value notified by a base station-side notifier and stores the acquired MTU value in a mobile station-side memory. A mobile station-side transmitter transmits data to a destination with the data size set to be smaller than or equal to the MTU value stored in the mobile station-side memory. A base station-side acquirer acquires the MTU value of the transmission path and stores the acquired MTU value in a base station-side memory. The base station-side notifier notifies the mobile station of the MTU value stored in the base station-side memory.

A mobile communication system enables data reception in correct order, with regard to a reversed data order caused by a route change in data transfer from a source base station to a target base station and in direct transmission from a gateway to a target base station is provided. In the mobile communication system, at the time of handover processing performed accompanying a movement of the user equipment from the source base station to the target base station, the source base station transfers to the target base station, a part of packet data not yet transmitted to the user equipment, among packet data received from the upper-level device, and when transferring the part of packet data, the source base station assigns transfer start information, indicating a start of transfer, to a header in a top packet of the untransmitted packet data.

A time synchronization method for synchronizing times of a first apparatus and a second apparatus includes transmitting, by the first apparatus, a packet to the second apparatus, the packet including the time of the first apparatus, providing, by a relay apparatus that relays the packet, a value to the packet, the value indicating a reception time upon the reception of the packet, providing, by the relay apparatus, a difference between the value provided to the packet in the providing of reception time and a current time to the packet upon the transmission of the packet, the difference serving as a delay value, and executing, by the second apparatus, a control for time synchronization based on the time of the first apparatus included in the packet and the delay value provided to the packet.

Time synchronization method and relay apparatus

Packet buffer equipment in which a buffer and time for packet assembly is utilized for packet header analysis and addition processing to obtain increased efficiency. The equipment aims to receive virtual channel (VC)-multiplexed ATM cells to assemble into a packet on a VC basis maintaining each received cell, to output on a packet basis. As an embodiment, cells are assembled into a packet by storing cells from the top cell to the end cell into a packet buffer memory consisting of a plurality of cell buffers to store cells. Also, a sequence controller is provided for detecting the write completion of a new header cell, and for connecting a packet in packet-under-assembly queue constituted by under-assembly pointer into an output-wait queue.
