A communication device that reduces power consumption is realized by appropriately setting a transmission output power value for DSC communication. A communication device () includes: an AIS receiving section () for receiving information related to an AIS; a DSC communication section () for performing DSC communication; and a transmission output power setting section () configured to set a transmission output power value for communication performed on a conversation channel by the DSC communication section to a value corresponding to a distance, which is calculated based on the information, between the communication device and a communication target vessel.

Communication device and method for controlling same

A communication device includes: a display section; an AIS receiving section configured to receive automatic identification system (AIS) information; a list creating section configured to create, based on the AIS information about vessels existing in the vicinity of the communication device, a proximity order list in which pieces of specific information for identifying the vessels are arranged in increasing order of proximity to the communication device; and a display control section configured to, when the submersion of the communication device has been detected, control the display section so that the display section displays the proximity order list and so that any one of the pieces of specific information at the top of the proximity order list is in a selected state.

An angle calculator calculates, based on acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor, a tilt angle of a transceiver with respect to the vertical direction. A selector (i) selects a first audio filter to operate if the tilt angle is less than a threshold angle, or (ii) selects a second audio filter to operate if the tilt angle is equal to or greater than the threshold angle. The second audio filter has a lower cutoff frequency that is higher than the lower cutoff frequency of the first audio filter.

Wireless communications device and method of controlling wireless communications device

An electronic device including a submersion detector, an illuminant provided inside a casing, a lighting circuit, a controller, an unnecessary part that is unnecessary for lighting the illuminant. The submersion detector detects submersion of the electronic device and retrieval of the device. The submersion means that the electronic device falls onto or into water. The retrieval means that the electronic device is retrieved from water. The lighting circuit lights the illuminant in response to an input of a lighting signal. The controller lights the illuminant by generating and outputting the lighting signal to the lighting circuit for a period of time from the submersion at least until the retrieval. In a case where the unnecessary part is supplied with power when the submersion detector detects the submersion, the controller stops the supply of the power to the unnecessary part at least for the above period of time.

Electronic device and method for controlling electronic device

A radio apparatus includes a Man-Overboard detection unit, a control unit and a distress key. The Man-Overboard detection unit outputs a Man-Overboard signal when the radio apparatus has fallen to a water surface or into water. The control unit generates a distress signal including a distress type. A distress key outputs a distress key manipulation signal to the control unit when the distress key is manipulated. When the control unit receives the Man-Overboard signal from the Man-Overboard detection unit, the control unit automatically sets a distress type of the distress signal to Man-Overboard.

Radio apparatus

An electronic device including a submersion detector, illuminants, a lighting circuit, a controller, and an orientation detector. The submersion detector detects submersion of the device and detect retrieval of the device. The illuminants are arranged inside a casing such that at least one of the illuminants is visible from above water when the device is submerged in any submersion orientation. The lighting circuit lights up at least one of the illuminants in response to an input of a lighting signal. The controller generates and outputs the lighting signal to the lighting circuit for a period of time from the submersion at least until the retrieval so as to light up the at least one of the illuminants. The orientation detector detects a submersion orientation of the device. Only the at least one of the illuminants that is visible from above water lights up, in accordance with the detected submersion orientation.

A radio apparatus includes a control unit, a power unit, a distress key and a transmission unit. When the distress key is manipulated, a distress key manipulation signal is output to the control unit and the power unit. When the power unit receives the distress key manipulation signal during a power supply is stopped, the power unit supplies power to the control unit and the transmission unit. When the control unit receives power from the power unit, the control unit starts setting up the radio apparatus and counts a time that the control unit continuously receives the distress key manipulation signal. When the control unit continuously receives the distress key manipulation signal for a preset time or longer, the control unit outputs a power supply maintenance signal to the power unit, generates the distress signal, and causes the transmission unit to send the distress signal.

An electronic device with a speaker, an amplifier for driving the speaker and a speaker grill provided on the front surface of the speaker includes a pickup detection unit for detecting that the electronic device has been picked up from water and a water discharge sound generation unit for generating a water discharge sound signal for discharging water having entered inside the speaker grill according to the detection of the pickup from the water and inputting the generated water discharge sound signal to the amplifier.

Electronic device

The electronic apparatus includes a submergence detector for detecting submergence of the electronic apparatus in the water and retrieval thereof, a light-emitting device provided within an enclosure of the electronic apparatus, an illumination circuit for lighting the light-emitting device when an illumination signal is input, a controller for causing the light-emitting device to blink by generating the illumination signal at prescribed blinking intervals at least during a period from a point of submergence to a point of retrieval of the electronic apparatus and inputting the illumination signal to the illumination circuit, and a power control circuit for activating the controller by supplying electric power thereto if the electric power is not supplied to the controller when the submergence detector detects submergence.

Electronic apparatus

A portable electronic device includes a housing, a drop detection part located on the housing that detects when the device is dropped into water, a light emission part located within the housing, and a light-emission control circuit located within the housing that controls emission of light from the light emission part when the drop detection part detects that the device is dropped into the water. The device is configured to have a buoyancy, and the buoyancy and a center of gravity of the device are configured to let the device float stably in a left-right lateral direction.

Portable electronic device

A drop detection part that detects drop into the water, a light emission part, and a light-emission control circuit that makes the light emission part emit light when the drop detection part detects the drop into the water. Also, the light emission part may be disposed on the side to be turned up by buoyancy when the device is dropped into the water and the drop detection part may be disposed on the side to be turned down in the case of the drop into the water, for example.

A high frequency circuit includes an amplifier part that includes a plurality of amplifier circuits amplifying a high frequency signal and connected in parallel, that synthesizes outputs of the amplifier circuit and that supplies the outputs to an antenna; a controller that outputs a low power signal during a low power mode in which the amplifier part operates at low power; and an operation suppressing circuit that disables one of the plurality of amplifier circuits based on the low power signal.

High frequency circuit

A wireless communication device includes a speaker grille, a built-in speaker provided behind the speaker grille, and an output amplifier connected to the built-in speaker. A voltage applied to the output amplifier is increased to a level higher than the level of voltage applied to the output amplifier while audio signals are being produced, and instead of the audio signals, low-frequency continuous signals are applied to the output amplifier. By increasing the voltage applied to the output amplifier to a level higher than the level of voltage applied to the output amplifier while audio signals are being produced, the amplitude of the voltage applied to the speaker is increased. Also, instead of the audio signals, low-frequency continuous signals are applied to the output amplifier so that the speaker produces a higher sound pressure than while audio signals are being produced to discharge water in the speaker grille under the sound pressure.
