An electronic device, a control method thereof and a security program are provided which are capable of preventing or suppressing the theft of the electronic device. The electronic device comprises mounting means for loading a portable recording medium and encrypted information write means for encrypting predetermined information using an encryption key unique to the electronic device and writing the encrypted information in the recording medium. The electronic device further comprises encrypted information read means for reading the encrypted information recorded in the recording medium in the case where the recording medium is loaded in the mounting means, decryption execution means for executing the decryption of the encrypted information using the encryption key, and control means for setting the electronic device in usable mode in the case where the encrypted information is decrypted by the decryption execution means.

A single-lens reflex camera includes a protruding housing portion enclosing a pentagonal prism and an eyepiece optical system. The housing portion has at least two lateral faces connecting a front face and a rear face. The camera includes a flash unit having two arm members fixed thereto. The two arm members can rotate about axis passing through the protruding portion between the lateral faces. The two arm members can assume a first position where the flash unit is disabled and a second position where the flash unit is enabled.

A film rewind device in a camera in which a rewind coupling is automatically engaged with a cassette shaft in response to rewind operation has a rotatable member having a spiral groove on its peripheral wall portion and said rewind coupling at the end of the shaft thereof, the rotatable member being slidable in axial direction and rotatable by rewind operation, and a meshing member meshing with the spiral groove at the initial stage of the rewind operation to thereby slide the rotatable member in axial direction to cause the coupling to engage the cassette shaft. The mesh engagement between the meshing member and the spiral groove is released in axial direction when the coupling engages the cassette shaft, so that the meshing member comes to support the rotatable member so as to block the return of the rotatable member in axial direction.
