A controlled release formulation which comprises a compound selected from the group consisting of organic acidic compounds and acid anhydrides or esters capable of generating one of the organic acidic compounds through hydrolysis together with an active ingredient and collagen as a carrier, said formulation being capable of exhibiting a predetermined release profile of the active ingredient. A process for producing said formulation is also provided.

A device for administering solid or semisolid preparations under the skin, which comprises a solid needle member with an acute tip end, and a cylindrical member slidably mounted on the needle member. The solid needle member having a recess at its front part to form a preparation chamber between the needle member and cylindrical member, and the chamber being opened or closed by moving the cylindrical member in the direction parallel to the axis of the needle member.
