In the illumination device of the invention, an LED is oppose to a side surface of a flat light guide member. A light shield surface for shielding light from the LED and emitted toward the backside of the guide member in vicinity of the LED on the backside of the light guide member.

Illumination device

The invention is directed to provide a vehicle interior illumination device which has a high illuminating effect and which can be used for various kinds of illumination in a vehicle. The illumination device disposed in a roof portion of the interior of a vehicle, including: a first light-emitting section having a first light source constituted by a plurality of first LEDs disposed at substantially regular spaces; and a second light-emitting section having a second light source constituted by a second LED, and a second outer lens with which a light emission side of the second light source is covered and by which light emitted from said second light source is converged and radiated out.

An illuminating plate for a car has a light guide plate; a cover provided with at least one light transmitting window, and disposed on the light guide plate; and light reflecting layer formed on the rear surface of the light guide plate. A vehicle display device such as a speed meter including indicators, many segments illuminated in two or more colors by plural LEDs and an indicator control circuit. The indicators dispose the segments so as to display a variable such as a car speed in a bar graph or in the form of a number. The indicator control circuit displays the variable by controlling the lighting of the LEDs and changes an emitted light color of indication based on a fixed color changing reference value in accordance with a value of the variable. The control circuit controls a duty ratio of a supply current or a current value in a predetermined set value range determined on the basis of the color changing reference value. Namely, brightness of the emitted light color before a color change is gradually decreased, while brightness of the emitted light color after the color change is gradually increased.

A horn switch for a steering wheel having an air bag device. The steering wheel includes a multilayer membrane switch as the horn switch in which spacers in one layer are not aligned with the spacers in the other layers. Accordingly, even when the membrane switch is depressed just over one of the spacers in one layer, the electrode plates in the other layers can make contact with each other. Thus the operable area of the membrane switch is enlarged. Further, the membrane switch is supported on its lower surface by a number of ribs which define a number of spaces between the pad lower surface and air bag device. As a result of this space, the operation on the membrane switch can be made resilient in spite of the provision of the air bag device directly under the steering wheel pad. Further, because each part of the pad separated by the air bag device upon impact, each part must be provided with a membrane switch. For this reason, a wiring structure for the two membrane switches is provided such that the manufacture of the pad and the assembly of the steering wheel is more easily facilitated.

A steering wheel assembly including an insulated base having a surface; a plurality of segmented slip rings having surfaces, disposed separately on the insulated base along a circular line such that they are mutually insulated; a plurality of contact pins that make sliding contact with the segmented slip rings along the circular line, and are set facing the surfaces of the segmented slip rings; and interposing pieces provided between the adjacent segmented slip rings such that the contact pins can move smoothly across the segmented slip rings.
