An object of the present disclosure is to provide a technique capable of displaying an appropriate display image corresponding to a position of an observer. A display device includes a detection electrode, a first screen, and a second screen on a side opposite to the first screen. A distance between the detection electrode and the first screen is longer than a distance between the detection electrode and the second screen, or a dielectric constant between the detection electrode and the first screen is lower than a dielectric constant between the detection electrode and the second screen, or the distance between the detection electrode and the first screen is longer than the distance between the detection electrode and the second screen and the dielectric constant between the detection electrode and the first screen is lower than the dielectric constant between the detection electrode and the second screen.

Display device with a detection electrode

An object of the present invention is to provide a technique for providing a detection function of detecting that an external approaching object approaches a sensor region of a touch sensor, without increasing an area of the touch sensor and making a circuit complex. According to an aspect, a display device includes a first detection electrode that detects a position of an external approaching object within a detection surface, and plural second detection electrodes that detect that the external approaching object approaches the detection surface. The second detection electrodes extend in a second direction and are arranged in a first direction intersecting the second direction. The second detection electrodes overlap the first detection electrode in a plan view.

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a display device that enables the prevention of forming a ghost even though a water droplet is attached. A display device includes a display panel having a semiconductor device disposed at an end portion of an array substrate, and a translucent cover member covering the display panel. The display panel includes a plurality of drive electrodes that detect an external proximity object, and a conductive layer between the translucent cover member and the semiconductor device. At least a part of the conductive layer overlaps with at least a part of the semiconductor device in a planar view.

A display device is configured to alternately execute an operation in a display period and an operation in a detection period in a time division manner. The display device includes: scanning lines; signal lines; a drive electrode; a scanning-line drive circuit; a signal-line drive circuit; a drive-electrode drive circuit configured to supply an alternating-current drive signal to the drive electrode in the detection period; a power circuit configured to generate a first potential for a high potential of each scanning signal and a second potential for a low potential of each scanning signal; a first-potential supply line; and a second-potential supply line. A potential supply period is included in a low-potential period of the drive signal, the potential supply period being a period in which the first potential is supplied to the first-potential supply line and the second potential is supplied to the second-potential supply line.
