An oil content measurement device includes a fluid device which mixes water to be treated containing oil content with a solvent and extracts the oil content into the solvent, a sensor unit which has a casing storing a quartz crystal oscillator therein with a ring-like spacer in between, a dispensing nozzle which is disposed above the oscillator at a predetermined gap there between and feeds a predetermined amount of the solvent after the oil content has been extracted on the oscillator, a sensor circuit which measures a resonance frequency of the oscillator, and controller which controls at least the fluid device and the sensor circuit. Provided is a arithmetic logical unit, based on a change amount of the received resonance frequency of the oscillator in the sensor unit to which the solvent after the oil content has been extracted has been fed, measures the oil content remaining on the oscillator.

A wet flue gas desulfurization process wherein sulfur dioxide present in flue gas is absorbed into a slurry containing a calcium compound, the slurry having sulfur dioxide absorbed therein is oxidized to form a gypsum slurry, and gypsum is separated and recovered from the gypsum slurry, which comprises the steps of dipping a part of a circulating filtering surface of a suction filter into the gypsum slurry so as to cause gypsum to adhere the filtering surface, carrying the gypsum-bearing filtering surface above the surface of the gypsum slurry, sucking out the liquid phase through the filtering surface to form a dehydrated gypsum layer thereon, and removing the gypsum layer from the filtering surface, as well as an apparatus for carrying out this process.

Wet flue gas desulfurization process and system

A wet flue gas desulfurization system for removing sulfur dioxide present in flue gas by absorption into an absorbent slurry includes an absorption tower having at a bottom thereof a tank for holding an absorbent slurry; a circulating pump for feeding the absorbent slurry within the tank to a flue gas inlet section in an upper part of the absorption tower and bringing the absorbent slurry into contact with flue gas; and a slurry preparation compartment provided on one side of the tank of the absorption tower and separated from a flue gas passage section by a partition wall having its lower end submerged below a surface of the absorbent slurry, whereby an absorbent and water constituting the absorbent slurry are directly introduced into the slurry preparation compartment.

Wet flue gas desulfurization system

This invention relates to a gas-liquid contacting device for efficiently bringing a gas into contact with a slurry solution, and a wet flue-gas desulfurization system using the contacting device. The contacting device incorporated in the system comprises a tank to be supplied with a slurry solution, a set of agitator bars held above the bottom of the tank to be horizontally rotatable, a plurality of gas supply pipes for supplying a gas to the vicinity of the agitator bars, nozzles directed to the region through which the agitator bars rotate or to its vicinity, and a plurality of liquid supply pipes for supplying a liquid to the nozzles.

Described is the method of producing the super needle coke from graphite electrodes, wherein the starting material derived from coal tar or the starting material derived from coal tar and containing less than 0.1 weight percent of the dry sludges or quinoline insolubles is subjected to hydrogenation in the present of hydrogenation catalyst to give the hydrogenated oil which is further subjected to thermal cracking under the controlled condition and non-volatile components contained in thermally cracked oil are removed to give the starting coking material from the distillate these of which is subjected to delayed coking. The thermal cracking conditions are selected from the conditions in which the pressure range is up to 3.9 MPa (40 kg/cm.sup.2 G.). The temperature is 470.degree. to 520.degree. C. and the cold residence time is to to 350 seconds, while the coking conditions are selected from the conditions in which the temperature ranged is over 450.degree. to 465.degree. C. and the pressure range is over 0.19 to 0.98 MPa (2 to 10 Kg/cm.sup.2 G).
