In the buckle device, when or after torsional deformation of the torsion shaft has started and allowance of the drawing-out of the belt has started, the breaking portion of the shear plate is started to be deformed by the coupling hole side surface of the spool, whereby the breaking portion allows the rotation of the spool and allows the drawing-out of the belt. Therefore, the allowable drawing-out load of the belt can be made the sum of the load for torsionally deforming the torsion shaft and the load for deforming the breaking portion, and can be increased.

Buckle device

In this buckle device, a base end portion of a belt is folded back on itself to form a ring-shaped portion, and the belt is wound onto a spool in a state in which the ring-shaped portion of the belt has been inserted through an insertion hole in the spool. This enables a winding radius of the belt to be increased by the base end portion of the belt and enables a load at which the belt is permitted to be pulled out to be reduced, when the belt is pulled out from the spool.

In this buckle device, when a second wind of a belt is pulled out from a spool, a load at which the belt is permitted to be pulled out is small, whereas slide resistance of the belt with respect to a slide face is large. When a first wind of the belt is then pulled out from the spool, the belt pull-out permitting load is large, whereas the slide resistance of the belt with respect to the slide face is small. This enables variation in a load at which extending of a buckle body is permitted to be suppressed.

In a buckle device, when a belt starts to be allowed to be drawn, a fracture portion is deformed by a side surface of a connection hole of a spool, so that the fracture portion allows a rotation of the spool and allows drawing of the belt. Then, the fracture portion is fractured by the side surface of the connection hole. Therefore, a drawing allowance load of the belt when the belt starts to be allowed to be drawn can be increased.

A seat belt device includes a buckle provided on a side portion of a seat for a vehicle, and configured such that a tongue plate is inserted into the buckle; a buckle force limiter mechanism connected to the buckle via a connecting member having an elongate shape, the buckle force limiter mechanism being configured to allow the buckle to move in a pulling direction when a tensile load equal to or larger than a predetermined tensile load is applied to the buckle; and a case covering the connecting member from an inner side in a seat width direction, the case having a corner at an upper end portion of the case, the corner facing the connecting member, and the corner having an arc shape.

Seat belt device

A buckle device includes: a buckle body to which a tongue portion mounted on a three-point seat belt is to be connected; a connecting member that is flexible and that has a first longitudinal end portion connected to the buckle body; and a force limiter mechanism including a take-up shaft around which a second longitudinal end portion of the connecting member is wound, the take-up shaft being supported below the buckle body in a vertical direction of a vehicle so as to be rotatable relative to a vehicle seat or a vehicle body, and an energy absorbing member that is deformed by rotation of the take-up shaft.

A steering wheel includes a gripping portion that is gripped by a driver when a conveyance is steered, a light source that is disposed inside the gripping portion and is configured to emit light, a light guide body that is disposed inside the gripping portion such that an end portion of the light guide body faces the light source, the light guide body including an emission surface that is configured to emit light from the light source and incident on the end portion and that is formed on a surface on a driver side, and a covering portion that surrounds the light guide body and forms an outer layer portion of at least a part of the gripping portion around the light guide body. The covering portion is formed with a hole, through which light emitted from the emission surface passes.

Steering wheel

When a retaining portion for a first load absorbing wire and a second insertion hole of a second load absorbing wire are aligned with each other in a spool radial direction, and a retaining portion for the second load absorbing wire and a first insertion hole of the first load absorbing wire are aligned with each other in a spool radial direction, the forming position of the retaining portion for the first load absorbing wire is set further to the spool radial direction outside than the second insertion hole so that the retaining portion of the first load absorbing wire and the second insertion hole do not align with each other along the spool axial direction in this state. Similarly the forming position of the retaining portion for the second load absorbing wire is set further to the spool radial direction outside than the first insertion hole.

Webbing take-up device

A head-protecting airbag adapted to be mounted on an upper periphery of a window of a vehicle for deployment downward to cover the window includes a primary inflatable portion that includes a protection portion for receiving an occupant's head and a secondary inflatable portion that admits inflation gas of the primary inflatable portion and is inflatable secondarily for preventing a pressure increase of the primary inflatable portion. The primary inflatable portion and the secondary inflatable portion are communicated with a tubular conduit. The protection portion includes an inlet-side inflatable portion located proximate an inlet port of the conduit and a lower inflatable portion located below the conduit. The lower inflatable portion is communicated with part of the inlet-side inflatable portion and has an opening dimension in a vertical direction that is greater than that of the conduit over an entire area below the conduit.

Head-protecting airbag

A head-protecting airbag is deployable downward from an upper periphery of a window of vehicle to cover the window. The airbag includes a primary inflatable portion that includes a protection portion for receiving an occupant's head and a secondary inflatable portion that admits inflation gas of the primary inflatable portion and is inflatable secondarily for preventing a pressure increase of the primary inflatable portion. The primary inflatable portion and the secondary inflatable portion are communicated with a tubular conduit that is arranged along the lower periphery of the airbag. The protection portion includes an inlet-side inflatable portion communicated with the conduit and an upper inflatable portion located above the conduit. The conduit includes a main region located facing the outlet port and an enlarged-diameter region that is located facing the inlet port and has a greater opening dimension than the main region.

An airbag apparatus includes an airbag that has a first portion and a second portion. The airbag is folded such that the first portion approaches the second portion. The folded airbag has an elongated shape extending along a first direction. An inletis formed in the airbag. By receiving the supply of gas through the inlet, the folded airbagis inflated while being deployed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, such that the first portion moves away from the second portion. The inletis arranged in a part of the folded airbagthat is located in a trailing side in the second direction. A first attachment portionis provided in the same part of the folded airbag. A second attachment portionis provided in each of the ends of the folded airbag 5. Airbag apparatus

A rear-impact airbag apparatus for use in a vehicle has an inflator and an airbag accommodated in an accommodation portion formed in the roof of the vehicle. When supplied with gas from the inflator, the airbag pops out of the accommodation portion and is inflated and deployed. A lateral inflatable cell and a pair of left and right vertical inflatable cells are defined in the airbag. The lateral inflatable cell guides gas from the inflator to flow outward in the vehicle width direction. Each vertical inflatable cell guides gas flowing therein from a corresponding end of the lateral inflatable cell to flow substantially downward. The gas flowing path cross-sectional area of a boundary between the lateral inflatable cell and each vertical inflatable cell is larger than the gas flowing path cross-sectional area of the lateral inflatable cell. This permits gas to smoothly flow through the boundaries between the lateral inflatable cell and the vertical inflatable cells, at which the gas flowing direction is greatly changed.

Rear-impact airbag apparatus

In a knee protecting airbag device of the present invention, an airbag is folded and housed on the front side of the knees of a seated passenger. The airbag is protruded rearward of a vehicle from a protruding opening and expanded and inflated upward, when an inflating gas flows in. And, the airbag is arranged on the front side of the knees of the passenger between a member on the body side and the knees of the passenger thereby to protect the knees of the passenger. The protruding opening has a transverse width size set within a range of &#x215b; to &#x2154; of the transverse width size of the airbag having completed its expansion and inflation.

Knee protecting airbag device

The knee-protecting airbag device includes an airbag that protrudes rearward from a housing and deploys upward when fed with inflation gas. The airbag includes an upstream part located toward lower end of the completely inflated airbag and located upstream of inflation gas, and a downstream part located toward upper end of the completely inflated airbag and located downstream of inflation gas. The downstream part is adapted to protect an area from shins to knees of an occupant when the airbag is completely inflated. In the course of airbag inflation, internal pressure of a shin-protecting area, which is part of the downstream part for protecting shins, peaks 5 to 15 ms later than a peak time of internal pressure of the upstream part.
