The present invention relates to a manufacturing system which accepts a custom order of product from a customer and custom manufactures a product without sacrificing manufacturing efficiency. The manufacturing system includes the featuring steps of inputting the required specification of a product, creating the product design based on the design information of the product transmitted from a designing department, status data from the production department, and the input required specification, showing the created product design to the customer, selectively indicating a product to be purchased, transmitting the specification of the selected product to the production department, and producing a product based on the selected product specification.

An articulated industrial robot comprising a supporting post mounted on a base; a forearm provided at its end with a wrist having at least one degree of freedom; a pair of upper arms pivotally connected at their one ends to the supporting post and at their other ends to the forearm, the upper arms being disposed in parallel with each other at both sides of the supporting post and the forearm; an upper arm rotary driving source mounted in the supporting post; an upper arm connecting mechanism for connecting the output of the upper arm rotary driving source to the upper arm through a reduction gear; a forearm rotary driving source mounted on one of the upper arms; a forearm connecting mechanism for connecting the output of the forearm rotary driving source to the forearm through a reduction gear; a wrist posture controlling rotary driving source provided on the other upper arm or on the supporting post; and a wrist posture controlling connecting mechanism for connecting the output of the wrist posture controlling rotary driving source to the wrist through the other upper arm and through the forearm through a reduction gear.

Articulated industrial robot

A hot-melt adhesive comprising a self-curing unsaturated polyester resin having an air-drying functional group and an average polymerization degree of 8 or more has been found to have an excellent heat resistance and a high bonding strength when it is bonding-cured under heat and pressure. If an additive selected from a polymerization initiator, a polymerization promotor and a photosensitizer is incorporated into the present air-drying, self-curing polyester resin, the curing speed is extremely increased to such an extent as cannot be expected from the conventional curing type adhesives. The incorporation of such an additive into the self-curing unsaturated polyester resin is advantageously realized in the form of composite structures of various forms, e.g., a laminate form, a core-in-sheath form and an islands-in-sea form. Such a composite hot-melt adhesive structure is useful for improving a pot life. If a thermoplastic polymer is incorporated, the resulting hot-melt adhesive is further improved with respect to bonding strength. Since the present hot-melt adhesive is solvent-free and does not contain as a cross-linking agent a vinyl monomer, it is easy to handle and environmental pollution can be advantageously avoided.

An industrial robot of the articulated type including a swivelling pedestal capable of swivelling about a vertical axis by force of a drive motor, a first brachium supported for pivotal movement about a first axis disposed horizontally on the pedestal, a lever supported for pivotal movement about the first axis, a second brachium connected at one end to a pivoting end of the lever for pivotal movement, a forearm connected to the other end of the second brachium and a pivoting end of the first brachium for pivotal movement and cooperating with the first and second brachiums and the lever to constitute a quadric parallel motion mechanism, and a wrist mounted on one end of the forearm. A motor pivotally moving the first brachium and a motor for pivotally moving the lever are mounted on the first axis, and a motor for driving the wrist is mounted on a connection between the lever and the second brachium, with the stator side of the wrist drive motor being secured to the pedestal together with the lever by the quadric parallel motion mechanism. Rotation of the wrist drive motor is transmitted through parallel links to a rotary member on a connection between the second brachium and forearm and a rotary member on a connection between the forearm and the wrist, whereby the wrist can be moved both pivotally and rotationally.

An alignment apparatus, in which a mask is overlaid on a wafer and a relative displacement between the wafer and a target pattern formed on the mask is detected to effect alignment thereof, comprises a slit frame adapted to reciprocate in a direction substantially parallel to the top surface of the mask and having a slit formed therein, an illumination optical system for illuminating the target pattern, an image formation optical system for forming the image of the target pattern onto the slit of the slit frame, a light sensing element mounted on the slit frame for detecting the target pattern image formed by the image formation optical system through the slit to convert the image into an electric signal, and a displacement detector for detecting the amount of movement of the reciprocation of the slit frame to convert the amount of movement into a position signal which the light sensing element scans, whereby the output signals from the displacement detector and the light sensing element are used to detect the relative position between the mask and the target pattern on the wafer and the mask is moved relative to the wafer such that the relative displacement amount becomes zero.

Alignment apparatus

A positioning apparatus comprising marks for position detection which are respectively formed on a plurality of objects, means to cause optical images of the position detecting marks from the respective objects to reach a scanning mechanism, the scanning mechanism scanning the optical images at the same time, a plurality of detectors, each of which consists of a slit and a photoelectric element, the slits being arranged on an identical optical axis so that the optical images of the position detecting marks of the respective objects as scanned by the scanning mechanism may be detected respectively and individually, and a driving device which moves one of the plurality of objects on the basis of signals from the detectors, to effect the relative positioning of the plurality of objects.

The present invention discloses a scanning photoelectric microscope in which a first reference object to be measured which is mounted on a stationary support is disposed relative to a second object to be measured which is disposed on a slidable table so as to form on both sides of the first object to be measured two indication intervals, which are caused to coincide with each other for alignment. The scanning photoelectric microscope according to the present invention comprises a scanning device for scanning an image reflected from the two indication intervals formed by the first and second objects to be measured at a constant speed to effect parallel displacement, a marker device for detecting positions of a scanned image corresponding to those of motion of the scanning device, and a circuit for detecting the two indication intervals detected by the scanning device in terms of time in response to a signal from the marker device, the second object to be measured being shifted until the two indication intervals coincide with each other.
