A steering device includes two motors each configured to generate a drive force that steers a steerable wheel of a vehicle and two controllers respectively corresponding to the two motors, each of the two controllers being configured to individually control a corresponding one of the motors. One of the two controllers is a first controller, and the other one of the two controllers is a second controller. The first controller is configured to calculate a command value corresponding to a total torque that should be generated in the two motors. The command value is divided into individual command values using a changeable distribution ratio set for each of the motors, the individual command values respectively corresponding to the motors. The two controllers are configured to respectively supply the motors with current corresponding to the individual command values.

Steering device and steering method

A steering device includes a steering rod that includes two ball screw parts, the steering rod being configured to steer a steerable wheel by moving linearly, two ball nuts respectively fastened to the two ball screw parts, two motors each configured to generate a drive force, two transmission mechanisms each including a toothed belt, the two transmission mechanisms being configured to transmit the drive force of each one of the two motors to a corresponding one of the ball nuts, two detectors configured to respectively detect rotation angles of the two motors, and a controller configured to control each of the two motors. The controller is configured to detect tooth jumping of the belts using the rotation angles of the two motors that are detected by the two detectors.

Steering device and method for detecting anomaly in steering device

A turning apparatus includes tie rods, a wheel turning shaft, two motors, two ball screws, a transmission mechanism, and two controllers. The wheel turning shaft turns steered wheels of a vehicle. A first controller that is any one of the two controllers computes a current command value and allocates the current command value to the motors at a ratio that varies with a position of the wheel turning shaft in an axial direction. The two controllers each supply any one of the motors, which is an object to be controlled by a corresponding one of the controllers, with a current according to a corresponding of individual current command values.

Turning apparatus

A steering system includes a housing, a steering operation shaft that is housed in the housing and configured to move in an axial direction to steer right and left steered wheels, a first drive source that generates a first drive force, a second drive source that generates a second drive force, a first power transfer unit that applies an axial force to the steering operation shaft with the first drive source, a second power transfer unit that applies an axial force to the steering operation shaft with the second drive force, a position detection sensor that is provided in the housing and detects an axial position of the steering operation shaft, and a control device that controls the first drive source and the second drive source using a detection result of the position detection sensor.

A turning device includes a turning shaft having a first ball screw groove as one of a left screw and a right screw and a second ball screw groove as the other of the left screw and the right screw and turning wheels to be turned by moving in an axial direction, a first electric motor generating a first driving force, a second electric motor operating independently of the first electric motor and generating a second driving force, a first ball screw nut transmitting the first driving force generated by the first electric motor to the first ball screw groove, a second ball screw nut transmitting the second driving force generated by the second electric motor to the second ball screw groove, and a rotation regulating part regulating relative rotation of the turning shaft around an axis with respect to a housing.

Turning device

A ball screw nut includes a nut part and a pulley part integrally molded with the nut part on the outer peripheral side of the nut part and having external teeth. The pulley part has a cylindrical portion extending in an axial direction and facing the nut part in a radial direction, and an extended portion extending radially inward from the cylindrical portion and facing the nut part in the axial direction. A restriction part for restricting relative rotation of the nut part and the pulley part is provided between a facing surface of the extended portion facing the nut part and a facing surface of the nut part facing the extended portion.

Ball screw nut, turning unit, and method for manufacturing ball screw nut

A steering device includes a rolling-element bearing that rotationally supports a rotating member in a housing. The rolling-element bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, first rolling elements, and second rolling elements. The first rolling elements and second rolling elements are disposed in parallel in the axial direction between the inner ring and the outer ring. The inner ring includes a first split race having a first inner peripheral track surface and a second split race having a second inner peripheral track surface. The steering device further includes a fixing structure configured to fix the rolling-element bearing to the outer periphery of the rotating member in a state where a load is applied to the first split race, the first rolling element, the outer ring, the second rolling element, and the second split race.

Steering device

A rack-parallel steering system that prevents entry of abrasion powder into a rolling bearing is provided. A steering system includes a steered shaft, a rolling element screw portion, a rolling element nut, and a ball screw device. The steering system includes: a motor including an output shaft offset from the steered shaft; a drive force transfer mechanism including a toothed drive pulley, a toothed driven pulley, and a toothed belt; and a rolling bearing supporting a ball screw nut to be rotatable relative to a housing. A first seal member that contacts an outer ring and an inner ring is provided on a side surface of the rolling bearing on the driven pulley side. A second seal member that does not contact the inner ring is provided on a side surface of the ball bearing on the side opposite to the side surface on the driven pulley side.

A rack shaft support device includes: a rack shaft support member that is accommodated inside a retention hole formed in a housing so as to slide in an axial direction of the retention hole, and slidably supports a rack shaft; a sealing member fixed to an inlet port of the retention hole; an intermediate member that is interposed between the rack shaft support member and the sealing member; a torsion spring that couples the sealing member and the intermediate member; a cam mechanism that converts a rotational force of the intermediate member induced by untwisting of the torsion spring to a force by which the intermediate member pushes the rack shaft support member; an opposing portion that opposes a rear surface of the rack shaft support member; and an annular elastic member that is interposed between the rear surface of the rack shaft support member and the opposing portion.
