A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic element, a first inner electrode, a second inner electrode, an outer electrode, and a first auxiliary electrode. The first auxiliary electrode extends to a first surface of the ceramic element. The first inner electrode extends along a first direction on the first surface. The first auxiliary electrode extends outward from the region where the first inner electrode is disposed in the first direction on the first surface. The outer electrode covers the first inner electrode and the first auxiliary electrode.

In an electronic component and a substrate module, a laminated body includes a first capacitor conductor and a second capacitor conductor embedded therein, which define a capacitor. First and second external electrodes are connected to the first capacitor conductor and the second capacitor conductor through extraction conductors, respectively. Third and fourth external electrodes are connected to the first capacitor conductor through extraction conductors. Fifth and sixth external electrodes are connected to the second capacitor conductor through extraction conductors. On a first side surface, no external electrode having an electrical potential different from the electrical potential of the third external electrode is provided between a first end surface and the third external electrode. On the first side surface, no external electrode having an electrical potential different from the electrical potential of the fifth external electrode is provided between a second end surface and the fifth external electrode.

Electronic component and substrate module including an embedded capacitor

A multilayered body includes capacitor conductors and an internal conductor, which together define a capacitor. A first external electrode is connected to one of the capacitor conductors via a set of lead electrodes. A second external electrode is connected to the other capacitor conductor via another set of lead electrodes. The internal conductor faces the capacitor conductors.

Electronic component and substrate module

A multilayer body includes first and second capacitance conductors and an internal conductor, which define a capacitor, provided therein. First and second external electrodes are respectively connected to the first and second capacitance conductors via first and second led out conductors. The internal conductor faces the first and second capacitance conductors. Third and fourth external electrodes are connected to the first capacitance conductor via third and fourth led out conductors. Fifth and sixth external electrodes are connected to the second capacitance conductor via fifth and sixth led out conductors.

In a monolithic ceramic capacitor, the size of end surfaces of a capacitor body in a two-dimensional surface in which ceramic layers extend is greater than the size of side surfaces in the two-dimensional surface in which the ceramic layers extend. External terminal electrodes include a resistive component. In each of first to fourth internal electrodes, a width-direction size of a lead-out portion is less than a width-direction size of a capacitance portion. The lead-out portions of the first and third internal electrodes and the lead-out portions of the second and fourth internal electrodes are arranged so as to partially overlap each other or not to overlap each other.

Monolithic ceramic capacitor

In an LW-reverse-type monolithic ceramic capacitor including external terminal electrodes each including a resistance component, internal electrodes include nickel or a nickel alloy, and the external terminal electrodes each include a first layer, a second layer provided on the first layer, and a third layer provided on the second layer. The first layer has a wrap-around portion extending from an end surface to principal surfaces and side surfaces of a capacitor main body, and contains a glass component and a compound oxide that reacts with Ni or the Ni alloy. The second layer covers the first layer such that the edge of the wrap-around portion of the first layer remains exposed, and contains a metal. The third layer covers the edge of the wrap-around portion of the first layer and the second layer, and is formed by plating.

A monolithic capacitor includes a laminate of ceramic layers, the laminate having first and second surfaces, at least one pair of first and second internal electrodes, first and second external electrodes disposed on the first surface, third and fourth external electrodes disposed on the second surface, a first via conductor that electrically connects the first external electrode to the first internal electrode and to the third external electrode and that contains a metal oxide, and a second via conductor that electrically connects the second external electrode to the second internal electrode and to the fourth external electrode and that contains a metal oxide, wherein, in each of the first and second via conductors, the metal oxide content at an end on the second surface side is higher than the metal oxide content at a center or at an end on the first surface side.

Monolithic capacitor, circuit board, and circuit module

A laminated capacitor includes a first capacitor element having a capacitance component provided by capacitance forming portions, facing each other, and an inductance component provided by the current pass between lead-out portions, a second capacitance element having a capacitance component provided by terminal electrodes, facing each other, and an inductance component provided by the current pass between the terminal electrodes, and a third capacitance element having a capacitance component provided by a set of the pluralities of capacitance forming portions facing the terminal electrodes and an inductance component provided by the current pass around the capacitance forming portions. Very good pass characteristics are obtained by the combination of the first to third capacitor elements.

Laminated capacitor

A laminated capacitor has an end surface pitch Pe, which defines an interval between adjacent first and second external terminal electrodes disposed on end surfaces having shorter sides in a body of a laminated capacitor, which is equal to or less than about 0.9 times of a side-surface pitch Ps, which defines an interval between adjacent first and second external terminal electrodes disposed on side surfaces having longer sides, in order to enhance the effect of magnetic-flux cancellation at the end surfaces and to reduce the equivalent series inductance of the whole laminated capacitor.

Laminated capacitor, printed circuit board, decoupling circuit, and high-frequency circuit

A capacitor array includes four internal electrodes and internal electrode extraction sections which are in electrical conduction with the corresponding internal electrodes and have predetermined widths which are symmetrically arranged relative to a long-side-direction center of each dielectric sheet. Here, the internal electrode extraction sections are arranged so that a pitch between the internal electrode extraction sections is smaller than a pitch between the internal electrodes. In other words, the internal electrode extraction sections are arranged so that they are disposed towards the center in the direction in which they are disposed. A predetermined number of dielectric sheets formed in this way are stacked, and dielectric sheets not having electrodes are stacked above and below the stacked predetermined number of dielectric sheets. External electrodes which connect to the internal electrode extraction sections are disposed at side surfaces of a component defined by these stacked dielectric sheets in order to form a capacitor array including four capacitors on one component. The capacitor array has excellent drop shock resistance.

Capacitor array

A sorting method of monolithic ceramic capacitors in which high reliable sorting can be efficiently achieved based on measuring an insulating resistance involves first performing a burn-in process, which applies not less than double of the rated voltage at the maximum working temperature to a monolithic ceramic capacitor. Thereafter, a high temperature insulation resistance measuring process, which involves measuring an insulation resistance while applying not less than the rated voltage at a temperature of not less than 70&deg; C. to the monolithic ceramic capacitor, is performed so that monolithic ceramic capacitors having abnormal insulation resistances are eliminated. Preferably, the direction of applied voltage in the burn-in process agrees with the direction of applied voltage in the high temperature insulation resistance measuring process.

Method of sorting monolithic ceramic capacitors by measuring the insulation resistance thereof

In the temperature of 70-140 degrees C., the burn-in process of applying a voltage to monolithic ceramic capacitors so that the strength of the electric field applied between the internal electrodes opposing each other may be 7 30 kV/mm is performed. Subsequently, the insulation resistance of the monolithic ceramic capacitor is measured. The monolithic ceramic capacitors are sorted based on the insulation resistance measured during this insulation-resistance measurement process. In this case, it is sufficient to apply the burn-in process for 2-300 seconds.
