A gas sensor includes a first thermistor as a detection element, a second thermistor as a reference element, a first heater for heating the first thermistor, a second heater for heating the second thermistor, and a control circuit that heats the first and second heaters such that the second thermistor has a higher temperature than the first thermistor in a first period of time and that the first thermistor has a higher temperature than the second thermistor in a second period of time.

Gas sensor

A gas sensor includes: a first thermistor having a resistance value that changes according to a concentration of a first gas with a first sensitivity and changes according to a concentration of a second gas with a second sensitivity; a second thermistor connected in series to the first thermistor, the second thermistor having a resistance value that changes according to a concentration of the first gas with a third sensitivity that is lower than the first sensitivity and changes according to a concentration of the second gas with a fourth sensitivity that is different from the second sensitivity; and a correction resistor connected in parallel with the first or second thermistor.

A gas sensor includes a first sensor part that can detect the concentration of the mixture of a first gas and a second gas, a second sensor part having higher detection sensitivity with respect to the second gas than with respect to the first gas, and a signal processing circuit that subtracts the concentration of the second gas detected by the second sensor part from the mixture concentration detected by the first sensor part to derive the concentration of the first gas. The concentration of the second gas detected by the second sensor part is subtracted from the concentration of the mixture concentration detected by the first sensor part, so that it is possible to cancel the influence of the second gas which is miscellaneous gas to thereby work out a correct value of concentration of the first gas to be detected.

An angle detecting apparatus includes a rotor fixed to a rotating shaft, a pair of magnetic sensors arranged close to the outer periphery of the rotor so as to have a difference in angle (&#x3c0;/2) with respect to the center of rotation of the rotor, a differential operational circuit performing differential operation on detection signals output by the magnetic sensors to output a differential signal, and the angle calculating circuit calculating the angle of rotation of the rotating shaft based on the differential signal. The planar shape of the rotor is such that the sum of the distances between the center of rotation and the respective two points where two straight lines crossing at the center of rotation at a crossing angle of (&#x3c0;/2) cross the outer periphery of the rotor is constant, and the planar shape is symmetric with respect to a straight line passing through the center of rotation.

Angle detecting apparatus and angle detecting method

An angle detecting apparatus includes a rotor fixed to a rotating shaft, a pair of magnetic sensors arranged opposite each other so as to output a first detection signal and a second detection signal, respectively, each of which contains information on the angle of rotation of the rotor, a differential operational circuit performing differential operation on the first detection signal and the second detection signal, and an angle calculating circuit calculating the angle of rotation of the rotating shaft based on the result of the differential operation by the differential operational circuit. Here, the distance between two points where a straight line passing through the center of rotation of the rotor crosses the outer periphery of the rotor is constant.

An electronic component module is configured by a passive component mounted on a built-in IC substrate. The passive component is provided with a passive element inductor, and a mounting surface for mounting on a substrate. Concavities are respectively provided at parts of two opposed borders in the mounting surface, and a terminal electrode is provided at the bottom part of the concavities. Since the passive component has a concavity within the mounting surface and the terminal electrode is incorporated within this concavity, the passive component can be mounted low on the substrate surface. Since the terminal electrode is incorporated in the concavity, solder is prevented from spreading fillet-like at the periphery of the inductor, thus increasing the mounting density of the passive component. There is increased freedom for mounting the passive component because the passive component is mounted on the built-in IC substrate in which the IC is embedded in the substrate.

Passive component and electronic component module

The invention has for its object to provide an organic EL display driving system and method enabling an organic EL display to be driven with neither a contrast lowering nor a false light emission phenomenon yet in simple construction. The driving system and method drive an organic EL device which comprises at least one set of scanning electrodes and data electrodes arranged in a matrix fashion and an organic material-containing organic layer located between said scanning and data electrodes and taking part in at least a light emission function, with one closed circuit formed through at least one set of electrodes. When the scanning and data electrodes are driven, a given non-selection time is provided between driving one electrode and driving the next electrode.
