A magnetron having permanent magnets sealed in the vacuum container, in which the permanent magnets and pole pieces associated therewith are supported with the inner wall of the vacuum container and holders provided thereon, and the pole pieces are projecting through the openings of holders into the interaction spaces which are defined between vanes in the vacuum container and a cathode, and the projecting portion of the pole piece is fixed to the opening of the holder by means of arc-welding or silver-alloy brazing.

Magnetron pole piece assembly

At least one permanent magnet and a pole piece having a projection is contained in an evacuated envelope formed by an anode cylinder and yokes on the opposite ends thereof. The permanent magnet and the pole piece is clamped between one yoke and a holder secured to the inner wall of the anode cylinder. The holder is provided with an opening a little smaller than the outer diameter of the projection and the projection is force-fitted into the opening to project into an interaction space defined between anode vanes and the cathode electrode.

Magnetron magnet assembly

The magnetron tube is provided with two concentric supports each with one end connected to the opposite ends of the cathode electrode and two concentric cup shaped input terminals respectively connected to the other ends of the supports. Lead wires extending from a filter for preventing leakage of high frequency wave are welded to the edges of the cup shaped input terminals and clamped thereto at portions near the welded ends by clamping members.

Magnetron tubes cathode support

A magnetron comprising a cathode, an anode cylinder having a plurality of vanes disposed around the cathode for defining an interaction space between the cathode and the vanes, and a pair of permanent magnets disposed opposite to each other for producing a magnetic field in the interaction space. One of the permanent magnets is annular in shape, and this annular magnet is magnetized relative to the other magnet so that their same poles confront each other thereby reducing the size of the magnetron.

In a magnetron comprising a cathode electrode, an anode cylinder including a plurality of vanes disposed about the cathode electrode for defining an interaction space, and a pair of permanent magnets contained in the anode cylinder for producing magnetic field in the interaction space, one permanent magnet is magnetized in the radial direction whereas the other is magnetized in the axial direction whereby the magnetic field distribution in the interaction space is made uniform.
