A lid member is mounted to the fuel tank to cover an opening of the fuel tank. A fuel pump is arranged in the fuel tank to pump fuel in the fuel tank. A module case supports the fuel pump. A pump module includes fuel component protruding from a lateral side of the module case in a projection, which is viewed from a side of the lid member. A supporting member is connected with the lid member and the module case to support the pump module in the fuel tank. The lid member supports the pump module via the supporting member. The module case includes a connecting portion that connects with the supporting member. The connecting portion protrudes from the module case to the lateral side of the module case. The connecting portion is arranged in an imaginary circle that passes through outer peripheries of the module case and the fuel component in the projection. The imaginary circle accommodates the module case and the fuel component in the projection.

Fuel feed apparatus having small sized structure

In a fuel supply device disposed in a fuel tank, a pump module is constructed with at least a fuel pump, a fuel filter and a pressure regulator, and is installed in a sub-tank. A filter case of the fuel filter has first ribs and second ribs, so that an axially position between the pump module and the sub-tank is set by the first ribs, and a circumferential position therebetween is set by the second ribs. Further, a fuel inlet of a jet pump is formed in an inner bottom surface of the sub-tank, and an inner surface of the fuel inlet of the jet pump is tapered. Therefore, a fuel outlet of the pressure regulator is guided while being connected to the fuel inlet of the jet pump. Accordingly, the fuel supply device can be assembled easily.

Fluid supply device

A fuel feed apparatus is accommodated in a fuel tank. Hooking projection parts have claws formed on a fuel discharge side of a fuel pump. The claws are fitted and hooked in an opening formed on a filter case, so that the fuel pump is protected from dropping out from the filter case. The entire circumference of the fuel discharge side of the fuel pump is inserted with force into a press-insertion part formed in the filter case. A fuel suction side of the fuel pump is not supported by other parts, so it is in free condition.

In-tank type fuel feed apparatus

A fuel feed apparatus accommodates a sub tank. The sub tank includes a pump module The pump module generates vibration, and is supported by a supporting member and a suction filter. The suction filter is covered with a nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric is used as an additional filter for removing debris in fuel drawn by the pump module. The supporting member and the nonwoven fabric have resilience. The pump module is mounted on the sub tank via the supporting member and the non woven fabric. Therefore, vibration of the pump module is not apt to be transmitted to the sub tank. Additionally, the supporting member need not to be rigidly formed, so that the supporting member can be manufactured easily.

Fuel feed apparatus having vibration damping structure

In a fuel supply apparatus for a vehicle, a sender gauge is attached to a stay separated from a flange and a bracket for supporting a fuel pump. By changing the shape of the stay, without changing the shape of other components, the mounting position of the sender gauge can be arbitrarily defined. The position of the sender gauge can be moved to a position where the interference of a float member with a fuel tank, sub-tank or suction filter may be prevented.

Fuel supply apparatus

An electric motor provides a carbon contact member of a commutator from colliding with a brush holder. A projection is formed in the brush holder so that it projects toward an end face of a resin mold of an armature. An end face of this projection, which is opposed to the end face of the resin mold of the armature, is positioned in the axial direction so as to form a clearance between the contact members and the brush holder when the armature is moved toward the brush holder by an external force and the end face comes in contact with the end face. As a result, if shock is applied to the fuel pump and the armature moves toward the brush holder, the contact members of the commutator are prevented from colliding with the brush holder. It thereby becomes possible to prevent the carbon contact members from being damaged.

At a boundary area between a high-pressure portion in which a discharge port of a fuel pump is disposed and a low-pressure portion in which an intake port is disposed, a pressure relief groove extending along the boundary area is formed so as to be communicated with the outside of the pump by pressure relief hole. Alternatively, a slit is formed communicated with the outside. Accordingly, a fuel at a high-pressure area portion can be drained with reliability. Further, by communicating the above pressure relief groove with a positioning pin insertion port, a single hole can serve both as a positioning pin insertion hole and a pressure relief hole.

Motor-type fuel pump for vehicle

The Cu-based sintered alloy bearing of the present invention is made of a Cu-based sintered alloy with a composition consisting of, by weight, Ni: 10 to 25%, Zn: 10 to 25%, P: 0.1 to 0.9%, C: 0 to 5%, molybdenum disulfide: 0.5 to 5%, and Cu and inevitable impurities as the balance. The Cu-based sintered alloy has a texture from a Cu&mdash;P compound, free graphite, and molybdenum disulfide being dispersed in a base material made of a solid solution phase of a Cu&mdash;Ni&mdash;Zn alloy, and a porosity is within a range of 5 to 25%.

A plane commutator includes a plurality of commutator segments made of carbon compound, a resinous boss member and a plurality of metal base plates. The plurality of the commutator segments forms a disk-like commutator surface at an end thereof and a base portion at the other end. The resinous base member is disposed in contact with the base portion to support the plurality of commutator segments. Each commutator segment has a projection extending from the base portion, and each base plate has an expansible through hole fitted to the projection. Each projection includes metal powder at portion in contact with the through hole to provide good electrical connection.

A bearing for motorized fuel pumps comprising a graphite-dispersed copper-based sintered alloy which contains 10 to 25% by weight of Zn, 10 to 25% by weight of Ni, 0.1 to 0.9% by weight of P, and 1 to 8% by weight of C, the balance being Cu and unavoidable impurities, and which has a porosity of 5 to 25%, exhibits superior wear resistance to a high-pressure high-speed flow of a fuel.

A plane commutator includes a plurality of commutator segments made of carbon compound, a resinous boss member having a body portion supporting a base portion of the commutator segments and an outer peripheral portion supporting an outer periphery of the same and a plurality of metal base plates. Each metal base plate has a contact portion in contact with the base portion of the commutator segment, an axial portion extending along a peripheral portion of the boss member and a terminal portion. The axial portion of the metal base plates is disposed on an outer periphery of the plane commutator in parallel with the outer peripheral portions of the boss member to separate the outer peripheral portion from the body portion. The outer peripheral portion moves freely from the body portion as the metal base plates thermally expand.

Plane commutator and method of manufacturing the same

An impeller has a plurality of blades at an outer periphery thereof. Each of the adjacent blades define a groove space, and a partition wall is provided in the groove space. The partition wall is disposed at a center area of the groove space in an axial direction of the impeller for partitioning the groove space from a root of the blade. The blade inclines backwardly in the rotating direction at the root side thereof, and inclines frontwardly in the rotating direction at a radial outer end side thereof. A front face is inwardly concaved from both axial ends, and warps from the root to the radial outer end of the blade to form the concave such that the concave gradually becomes small from the root to the radial outer end.

Fuel pump for internal combustion engine

A casing includes a C-shaped casing side pump groove along blades of an impeller. A casing cover also includes a casing cover side pump groove facing the casing side pump groove. The casing side pump groove and the casing cover side pump groove form a pump fluid passage. A gap is provided between an outer surface of the pump grooves and the impeller. Depth, and outer and inner diameters of a pump groove starts to gradually change from a fuel upstream side of a fuel outlet. The depth of the pump groove gradually decreases, the outer diameter of the pump groove gradually decreases to approach an outer diameter of the impeller, and the inner diameter of the pump groove gradually increases to approach the outer diameter of the impeller. The pump groove ends at a downstream side of the fuel outlet.

A commutator is composed of a contact unit, a base member made of insulation material and a terminal unit. The contact unit has a flat brush-contact surface and a connection surface opposite the brush contact surface. The contact unit also has a plurality of commutator segments. The terminal unit has a plurality of conductive terminal members. The base member supports the commutator segments. The commutator also has an electrical connection structure having a set of a convex member and a concave member and a plurality of connection members disposed between the convex member and the concave member to connect the plurality of the commutator segments and terminal members respectively.

Commutator and method of manufacturing the same

A fluid supply device such as a fuel pump has an impeller 24 on which vanes and vane grooves are arranged alternately on its outer circumference. All adjacent groove angles, each of which is defined by the adjacent two vane grooves, are different from each other. Among the arrangement of the vane grooves, a sum Sm of the angles of the vane grooves which are adjacent in succession in the number of m=n/k (k=2, 3 and 4) is determined. If the number n/k is not an integer, at least (n/k)+1 between n/k and (n/k)+1 is set as m. The sum Sm is determined n-times by shifting the vane groove, from which the sum is determined each time, in the circumferential direction one by one. The arrangement in which the sum Sm of each time satisfies the following relation is adopted: (360/k)-10.ltoreq.Sm.ltoreq.(360/k)+10.
