An electric stapler is configured to perform binding processing including a plurality of processes. The electric stapler includes: a binding unit configured to execute the binding processing for a sheet bundle; a motor configured to drive the binding unit; and a control unit configured to control the motor. The control unit is configured to control the motor; thereby adjusting processing times of the processes so that a binding processing time after the binding processing by the binding unit starts until the binding processing is completed falls within a predetermined range.

Electric stapler

An electric stapler includes a clamp part, a penetration part, a clinch part, and a motor, the penetration part, and the clinch part. The electric stapler performs binding processing accompanying rotation of the motor by sequentially performing a clamping process, a penetrating process, and a clinching process. The electric stapler includes a first position detection unit that detects that a rotational position of the motor passes a first position, a braking unit that applies braking to the motor after it is detected that the motor passes the first position, a difference calculation unit that calculates a difference between a position at which the motor is stopped by the braking unit and a predetermined stop target position of the motor; and a motor control unit that moves a rotational position of the motor to the stop target position by rotating the motor forward or in reverse by the calculated difference.

A staple removing device includes a device body, a removing part provided in the device body and configured to execute a staple removing operation of removing a staple from a sheet bundle, an accommodation unit detachably mounted to the device body and configured to accommodate the staple removed by the removing part, a count unit configured to count a number of operation times of the staple removing operation, a detection unit configured to detect whether the accommodation unit is attached or detached with respect to the device body, a measurement unit configured to measure an elapsed time after the detection unit detects that the accommodation unit is removed from the device body, and an operation-times reset unit that resets the number of operation times when the elapsed time becomes a predetermined time or longer.

An electric stapler includes a clamp part that is configured to include a first wall portion and a second wall portion for gripping a paper bundle, a penetration part that causes a staple to penetrate the paper bundle gripped by the clamp part, a clinch part that bends the staple penetrating the paper bundle to bind the paper bundle, a gripping release detection unit that detects that the paper bundle is released from gripping after the first wall portion moves in the direction of separating from the second wall portion from a state where the paper bundle is gripped by the clamp part; and an output unit that, after it is detected that the paper bundle is released from gripping of the clamp part, outputs a gripping release signal indicating that the paper bundle is released from gripping of the clamp part to an outside.

A stapler includes a staple cartridge in which a staple is stored, a storage unit to which the staple cartridge is detachably attached, a staple ejecting unit which ejects the staple to penetrate a paper sheet, a cutting unit which cuts a staple leg of the staple penetrating the paper sheet, a binding unit which bends the staple leg of the staple penetrating the paper sheet to bind the paper sheet, a cut staple storage unit which stores a cut staple that is cut by the cutting unit, a cut staple quantity detection unit which detects a quantity of the cut staple stored in the cut staple storage unit, and a discharge unit through which the cutting unit and the cut staple storage unit communicate with each other to guide the cut staple to the cut staple storage unit. The cut staple storage unit is attachable to and detachable from the stapler.

Stapler, post-processing apparatus and image forming system

An electric stapler includes: a driver for driving leg portions of a staple having a U-shaped section to penetrate the leg portions through a paper bundle; a table including a clincher for bending and forming the penetrated leg portions inwardly, the table for holding the paper bundle between the driver and the table; a motor for moving the table and the driver; a photo sensor for detecting an existence of the paper bundle inserted into a gap between the table and the driver; and a control portion for driving the motor. The photo sensor is disposed on the table in such a manner that a detection point of the photo sensor for detecting the paper bundle exists upwardly of a disposing position of the clincher by inclining an optical axis direction of a radiation light to be emitted from the photo sensor in a direction of the clincher.
