A task to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a method for producing a printed matter. The ink has excellent adhesion to an ink unabsorbent or non-absorbent recording medium, such as a resin film or coated paper, which is unlikely to absorb a solvent contained in an ink, and excellent setting property. The present invention is directed to a method for producing a printed matter, using an ink including a binder (A) having a carbonyl group, a compound (B) having a structure capable of reacting with the carbonyl group, and an aqueous medium in which the binder (A) and the compound (B) are dissolved or dispersed.

The method prepares an aqueous pigment dispersion. The method includes the following steps: providing a silica liquid including a hydrophilic fumed silica, potassium hydroxide and ion exchanged water; providing a styrene-acrylic acid copolymer obtained by copolymerizing monomers including a styrene monomer at an amount of 50 to 90 mass %; providing an aqueous medium; mixing a pigment with the styrene-acrylic acid copolymer and the aqueous medium to prepare a first mixture; and subsequently mixing the first mixture with the silica liquid to prepare the aqueous pigment dispersion.

Method for manufacturing aqueous black pigment dispersion

The present invention provides an aqueous pigment dispersion including at least a pigment, colloidal silica, bio-nanofibers having an average diameter of 1 nm to 100 nm and an aspect ratio of 100 or more, an anionic group-containing organic polymer compound, and also provides an aqueous ink. The bio-nanofibers are preferably cellulose nanofibers or chitosan nanofibers, and the ratio between the pigment, the colloidal silica, and the bio-nanofibers preferably satisfies (1) colloidal silica/pigment=1/100 to 20/100 or (2) colloidal silica/bio-nanofibers=1/2 to 10/1 and (3) bio-nanofibers/pigment=1/100 to 15/100.

Disclosed are an ink jet recording water-based ink having excellent long-term storage stability and ejection stability at a pigment concentration greater than or equal to a certain level and a simple and efficient method for producing such a water-based ink.
