A fuel injection valve includes a valve housing having an injection hole and a valve seat surface tapering toward a downstream side, a valve component that is accommodated in the valve housing and is coaxially separated from or seated on the valve seat surface, and an elastic component biasing the valve component toward the valve seat surface. The valve component includes an inner convex surface curved in a partial spherical shape with a predetermined curvature radius, and an outer convex surface that is provided continuously to the outer peripheral side of the inner convex surface and curved in a partial spherical shape having a smaller curvature radius than the inner convex surface. A boundary portion between the inner convex surface and the outer convex surface protrudes toward the valve seat surface so as to be able to be separated from or seated on the valve seat surface.

Fuel injection valve

A valve member of a pressure relief valve has a shaft portion, a pressure receiving portion, and a guide portion, wherein the valve member is axially movable in a fuel return passage. When a forward end of the shaft portion is seated on a valve seta, the fuel return passage is closed, while the shaft portion is separated from the valve seat the fuel return passage is opened. A notched portion is formed at an outer wall of the guide portion to thereby form an outer-surface passage. A fuel inlet port is formed in the valve member for communicating a fuel inlet chamber to the fuel return passage at a downstream side of the valve member.

An internal combustion engine has multiple cylinders each provided with multiple injectors. A fuel supply pipe device includes multiple fuel passages, which receive fuel through multiple fuel paths and supply the fuel correspondingly to the multiple injectors. The multiple fuel passages are separated respectively from the multiple fuel passages.

A combustion chamber side end portion of a fuel injection valve is placed at a location that overlaps with an imaginary plane, which is perpendicular to a center axis of a cylinder and extends along a portion of a wall surface of an intake port where an intake valve protrudes, or is projected out from the imaginary plane toward a combustion chamber. Alternatively, a center of a fuel injecting side end port of the fuel injection valve, which injects fuel into intake air that flows in a branch port branched from the intake port, may be placed on the center axis side of the intake valve in a radial direction of the cylinder. Further alternatively, an upstream side fuel injection valve may inject fuel into intake air that flows in the intake port, and a downstream side fuel injection valve may inject fuel into intake air that flows in the branch port branched from the intake port. Alternatively, an injection quantity of fuel may be controlled for each of fuel injection valves, which injects fuel into intake air that flows in the corresponding branch port branched from the intake port.

Mount structure of fuel injection valve and fuel injection system

A fuel supply system supplies composite fuel containing alcohol and gasoline to multiple cylinders of an internal combustion engine. The composite fuel includes main-fuel and sub-fuel. The sub-fuel is lower than main-fuel in concentration of alcohol. Each of multiple first fuel injection valves is provided to each of the cylinders for injecting fuel. Each of multiple second fuel injection valves is provided to each of the cylinders for injecting fuel. A fuel inlet portion supplies at least sub-fuel to each of the first fuel injection valves and each of the second fuel injection valves. A selector control unit selects one of main-fuel and sub-fuel supplied through the fuel inlet portion to each of the first fuel injection valves.

Fuel supply system and method for supplying fuel

A cylinder of an internal combustion engine is communicated with intake ports. Each of intake valves and each of fuel injection valves are provided to a corresponding one of the intake ports to inject fuel into a combustion chamber through a curved portion and an opening of the corresponding intake port. An injection axis of each fuel injection valve intersects with a surface of the corresponding intake valve placed in a close position at an intersecting point that is located on an upstream side of a central axis of the corresponding intake valve.

A fluid injection valve has: a valve body that is provided with an opening portion at one axial end thereof and is for starting and stopping a supply of a fluid out of the opening portion; and an injection port plate having a plurality of injection ports that penetrate therethrough, the injection port plate being fixed on the one axial end of the valve body to form a fluid chamber between itself and the valve body to accumulate the fluid therein and to which at least a part of the injection ports opens. A circumferential surface of the fluid chamber recedes toward the injection ports so as to decrease a cross-sectional area of the fluid chamber that is taken along a radial direction of the injection port plate and to reserve a predetermined length of distance between itself and the injection ports.

Fluid injection valve

A fuel injection valve includes a valve member, a movable core, a fixed core, and a coil. The valve member opens and closes a nozzle hole. The movable core reciprocates with the valve member in a substantially axial direction of the movable core. The fixed core is arranged on the side opposite to the nozzle hole with respect to the movable core. The fixed core opposes to the movable core. The coil generates magnetic force, which attracts the movable core toward the fixed core when the coil is energized. The coil includes a winding. The winding of the coil has an axial section, which is in a polygonal shape. The axial section of the winding is in a substantially oblong shape, in a substantially rectangular shape, or the like.

Fuel injection valve having small sized structure

A fluid injection nozzle has an injection port plate, an injection port and a protruding portion. The injection port plate is to be mounted on a downstream end of a fluid injection valve so that a center axis thereof is coaxial to the fluid injection valve. The injection port penetrates the injection port plate between an inlet and an outlet. The protruding portion protrudes from an inner surface of the injection port to shift a direction of at least a part of a fluid flow passing through the injection port to flow in a circumferential direction of the inner surface.

Fluid injection nozzle, fuel injector having the same and manufacturing method of the same

A stationary core has a press fitting portion and is secured to an inner peripheral wall of a tubular member by press fitting, so that an outer peripheral wall of the press fitting portion of the stationary core is engaged with the inner peripheral wall of the tubular member, and a radial space is formed upstream of the press fitting portion of the stationary core between the stationary core and the tubular member. The stationary core can have a tapered annular outer surface section, which is arranged in an outer peripheral wall of a downstream end portion of the stationary core and is tapered toward a downstream end of the stationary core at a taper angle of 2 to 60 degrees to have a reduced outer diameter.

In a fuel injection device, a metal inner tubular member has a step in an outer peripheral wall of the metal inner tubular member, and an axial end surface of an upstream end portion of a metal outer frame member axially abuts against the step of the metal inner tubular member.

An injection device satisfies the following conditions: 5 mm&lE;La&lE;10 mm, 0 mm&lE;Lb&lE;1.0 mm, Lb&lE;Lc, and 0.5&lE;Ld/La &lE;1.5, wherein La is a length of a coil, Lb is a distance between a downstream end surface of the coil and a downstream end surface of a non-magnetic portion, Lc is a distance between the end surface of the coil and a downstream end surface of a stationary core (or stationary portion), Ld is a length of the non-magnetic portion. The device also satisfies the following conditions: 0.2&lE;Sb/Sa&lE;0.9, and 0.1&lE;(Lf&plus;Lc)/La&lE;1.0, wherein Sa is a cross-sectional area of a main portion, Sb is a cross-sectional area of a reduced size portion, Lf is a length of the reduced size portion.
