An electronic control device is provided with a resin base, a substrate, and a resin cover. The resin base has at least one opening part. The resin cover formed in a cylindrical shape with a bottom is fixed on an inner surface of the resin base forming the opening part. The resin cover has a slit. The substrate has a card edge connector to be inserted into the slit. An electronic component is mounted on the substrate.

Waterproof component-suppressing electronic control device

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a motor vehicle internal combustion engine control apparatus which is constructed as a waterproof structure capable of having a long life while minimizing an increase in surface area of a case and a cover, thereby enabling miniaturization, decrease in cost, and increase in reliability to be satisfied. The motor vehicle internal combustion engine control apparatus is equipped with a substrate, a connector, and a case and cover which enclose the substrate, a waterproofing adhesive being disposed at a junction part between the cover and the case. Recessed portions are disposed at the junction part between the case and the cover. The sidewalls of one of the recessed portions are inserted into the other of the recessed portions to form a gap which is folded a plurality of times between the case and the cover and extends between the inside and the outside of the case and cover, said gap being formed so that the size of the gap on the outer side is formed to be larger than the size of the gap on the inner side. The gap is configured to be fluid-tight by the waterproofing adhesive filled in the gap.

Motor vehicle internal combustion engine control apparatus

The invention provides an electronic control device having a high-grade heat sink that: does not require tight control at the time of manufacturing; does not restrict the range of electronic components that can be used; is structurally simple; can be produced at a higher production rate; and is cost-effective. In this device, when a circuit boardhaving an electronic componentthereon is placed in a non-metal (resin) housing having: a housing baseintegrally comprising via a partition walla connector inserting sectionused for electrical connection with an external mating connector (not illustrated); and a housing coverattached to the housing base, part of the boardis inserted into an insertion hole provided in the partition wallso that it is exposed inside the connector inserting section. A pair of elastic metal parts, a heat sink, is provided in the housing, connected to the circuit boardat particular positions on its top and bottom surfaces with the use of a connecting material(solder or adhesive), and has an arch-shaped cross section as viewed from a lateral direction. The heat of the componentis transferred to the housing to dissipate it to the outside by the boardbeing supported from the top and bottom sides in the housing.

Provided is an electronic control device which has a circuit board fixing structure with a simple configuration and suppresses a phenomenon of falling off of the circuit board from a case body by mechanical external force. An elastically deformable engaging part and an engaged part for complementarily engaging with this engagement part are provided on a circuit board or a case body. When the circuit board is slid and housed in a guide rail part formed inside the case body, the engaging part is deformed. When the circuit board reaches a predetermined position, the engaging part is engaged with the engaged part formed at the circuit board or the case body. With this configuration, the case body and the circuit board can be reliably fixed with a simple configuration.

Automotive control unit having two connectors is provided in an uncomplicated configuration that allows holding durability to be ensured against high external force upon insertion of the connectors, watertightness in a severer environment, and high reliable connecting portions. The automotive control unit includes a boardon which an electronic device is mounted; a first connector directly inserted into and attached to a device to be controlled; a second connectorfor connecting to another control unit; and a housing which holds the board and includes a coverand a caseto which the first and second connectorsand, respectively, are attached. The first connectoris configured to be secured to the housing from the outside of the housing. The second connectoris held by and secured onto the board and then secured to the housing from the inside of the control unit.
