Provided is footwear that can simplify joining operation and reduce the time of the operation when a knitted fabric is formed into a three-dimensional shape. There is presupposed footwear obtained by forming a knitted fabric knitted with a flat knitting machine into a three-dimensional shape by joining left and right extended ends of a shoe tongue part and both the left and right positions of a sole in a front end portion of a main part. The footwear includes insertion pieces extended outward in a left-right direction from the left and right extended ends of the shoe tongue part, and insertion holes that linearly extend from both the left and right positions of the sole in the front end portion of the main part toward a heel part side, receive the insertion pieces inserted thereinto, and temporarily retain the insertion pieces.

There is provided a method for knitting a knitted fabric capable of forming a decoration unit of a novel shape using a flat knitting machine. A decoration unit () is formed on a surface of a base knitted fabric portion (), the decoration unit () being configured by a lower edge (D) extending in a knitting width direction of the base knitted fabric portion (), a left edge (L) extending in a direction intersecting the knitting width direction from a left end of the lower edge (D), and a right edge (R) extending in a direction intersecting the knitting width direction from a right end of the lower edge (D). The lower edge (D) is configured by a cross-over yarn extending in the knitting width direction of the base knitted fabric portion (). The left edge (L) and the right edge (R) are configured by stitches stretched in a direction intersecting the knitting width direction. The cross-over yarn and the stitches are knitted all at once.

Method for knitting knitted fabric

A method for knitting a shoe upper capable of forming a new stretch preventing section different from a conventional stretch preventing section, and a shoe upper obtained through such knitting method are provided. The shoe upper including a base knitted fabric portion (F) that covers a foot of a wearer is knitted. In the knitting, a stretch preventing section () configured by a knitted fabric of a plain structure is knitted, where one end in a wale direction is connected to the base knitted fabric portion (F) and another end in the wale direction is not connected to the base knitted fabric portion (F). The stretch preventing section () in which one end is fixed and the other end is not fixed is curled to a tubular shape. The curled stretch preventing section () is thicker than the other portions, thus suppressing the stretch of the shoe upper.

There is provided a shoe upper that is less likely to stretch, and a method for knitting the shoe upper. A shoe upper () includes a linear anti-stretch section (), knitted integrally to an instep cover section (), for suppressing stretching of the instep cover section (). The anti-stretch section () includes a pipe-form knitted fabric portion () configured with a knitting yarn including a heat fusible yarn, and an inserting knitting yarn () inserted inside the pipe-form knitted fabric portion () and fixed by tuck to stitches configuring the pipe-form knitted fabric portion (). The pipe-form knitted fabric portion () is configured by an inner knitted fabric part () and an outer knitted fabric part () that overlap in a thickness direction of the instep cover section (), a starting end in a wale direction of the inner knitted fabric part () and a starting end in a wale direction of the outer knitted fabric part () being joined, and a terminating end in the wale direction of the inner knitted fabric part () and a terminating end in the wale direction of the outer knitted fabric part () being joined to form a pipe shape.

A needle engaging with a loop at least lastly formed on a fabric formed just before inversion of a carriage is pulled by a pull-down cam formed in a composite cam system of the carriage while feeding a yarn to an opposite needle. When a feeding direction of a yarn fed from a yarn feeder is inverted accompanied with the inversion of the carriage, the tension force applied to the yarn is intensified to prevent tightening of the stitch of the knitted fabric.

The present invention provides a knitting method that when a knitted fabric having a wide rib structure formed by the plating using a front knitting yarn and a back knitting yarn different in color from each other, in particular, using a flat knitting machine, can make less noticeable a blur of the knitted fabric at an end of the knitting width to thereby produce a good looking wide rib structure. Using a flat knitting machine, a front stitch of the rib structure of one knitted fabric at an end of a knitted width thereof on the side on which the crossing of the knitting yarns used for the plating occurs is formed as a front stitch on the edge, and a back stitch of the rib structure of the other knitted fabric on that side is formed as a back stitch on the edge. After the front stitch of the rib structure of the one knitted fabric is knitted, the back stitch of the rib structure of the other knitted fabric is knitted changing a knitting direction, whereby the crossing is located in a crossover portion of the wide rib and thereby the blur of the knitting yarns is made less noticeable.

A position to form a stitch loop hooking portion is biased toward a base portion of a transfer jack from a center of a gap between needle beds. Therefore, the effective width of a tip portion of the transfer jack with respect to a height of a hook portion of a knitting needle is increased when the knitting needle enters into the stitch loop from a direction of the base portion of the transfer jack.

A method of knitting an inlaid fabric including a base knitting fabric portion and an inlay yarn and an inlaid fabric knitted by the method. The method comprises the step that the base knitting fabric portion is knitted; the step that inlay yarn holding loops are formed by retaining loops of the base knitting fabric portion retained by the needles on the first needle bed to the needles on the opposed second needle bed through a split knit process, whereby the loops are retained to the needles on both of the first and second needle beds; the step that the inlay yarn is made to run across the loops retained to the needles on the first and second needle beds; the step that the inlay yarn holding loops retained by the needles on the second needle bed are transferred to the needles on the first needle bed to be overlapped with the loops of the base knitting fabric portion; and the step that a yarn is fed to the needles of the first needle bed to form loops of the next course.

A knitting method that can permit the forming of a connecting part of the knitting fabric overlapped in front and back, such as a pleat or fly, even when the knitting fabric is knitted in a double jersey stitch structure. The method comprises the steps that the first and second knitting fabrics are knitted in double jersey stitch structure; that stitch loops of one of the first and second knitting fabrics which are to be overlapped with related stitch loops of the other of the first and second knitting fabrics are transferred to the opposed needle beds, whereby the first and second knitting fabrics are divided between the first needle bed and the second needle bed; that stitch loops of one of the first and second knitting fabrics which are not to be overlapped with related stitch loops of the other of the first and second knitting fabrics are held on the needles of the opposed needle beds, whereby the stitch loops of the first knitting fabric are retained by the needles of the first needle bed and the stitch loops of the second knitting fabric are retained by the needles of the second needle bed; that the first needle bed and/or the second needle beds are racked in a direction of the first knitting fabric and the second knitting fabric being moved closer to each other, so that the first and second knitting fabrics can be overlapped with each other in front and back; that the stitch loops held on the needles of each of the opposed needle beds are transferred back to their original needle beds; and that stitch loops of the next course are formed in double jersey stitch structure in the needles belonging in the region in which the first and second knitting fabrics are retained with overlapped in front and back.
