The present invention provides an injection mold having an injection core mold for defining the inner wall of a lip portion in a preform having an undercut, a first lip cavity mold for defining the outer wall of the lip portion having no undercut, and a second lip cavity mold for defining the outer wall of the lip portion having the undercut. In the initial release after the injection molding process of the preform, the second lip cavity mold is first moved upwardly to secure a space wherein there is no obstruction around the outer periphery of the undercut. Thereafter, the injection core mold is upwardly moved such that the second injection core mold can be forcedly released from the molded preform while resiliently deforming the undercut in the outward direction, utilizing the space so formed. The barrel portion of the preform so molded is biaxially stretched to provide a so-called roll-on type biaxially oriented vessel having a ball received in the lip portion thereof.

An injection molding method for a multi-layer bottomed parison comprising: using a triple nozzle concentrically comprising a first flowpassage in communication with a nozzle hole, a second flowpassage and a third flowpassage respectively opening to a distal end of the first flowpassage in the inside of the nozzle hole, forming an inner layer and an outer layer of a bottomed parison with a resin from the first flowpassage, and forming a bottomed parison having a five-layer or a four-layer in section comprising an intermediate layer and a center layer or two intermediate layers with resins from the second flowpassage and the third flowpassage.

A hollow container having a grip is formed by injection molding the grip and annular rings onto a blow molded container. An injection molded parison is first stretch blow molded to form a hollow container body having annular grooves. The hollow container body is then placed in a mold having molding grooves and a grip molding cavity. The molding grooves on the mold and the annular grooves on the container body together define connecting ring molding cavities. A pressure higher than ambient pressure is applied to the interior of the hollow container body. Then the grip and connecting rings are formed onto the hollow container body by injection filling the grip and connecting ring molding cavities.

A method of forming a multi-layered vessel by injection molding a multi-layered parison and subsequently blow-molding the parison to form the multi-layered vessel. The parison is formed having inner and outer wall layers and an intermediate gas barrier layer.
