An image forming apparatus forming a full color image by plural color materials. An image of an original is color-separated so as to form a color separation signal, and the color separation signal is converted to a color signal corresponding to each color material. The color signal is color-corrected so as to correct a color mixing state of the plural color materials, and a color image is formed by the corrected color signal. A test image of single color is formed, and a density of the test image is detected. Control is performed on a correcting condition for color-correcting the color signed based on the detected density. The correction to the color signal is delayed until toner is supplemented to the developing device.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus for controlling image forming conditions regarding the image quality comprises an image forming unit to form an image onto a recording medium such as a paper, a generator to generate pattern data to form an image of a stripe pattern of a predetermined interval by the image forming unit, a reader to read the stripe pattern image which is formed by the image forming unit in accordance with the pattern data which is generated from the generator, a memory to store the stripe pattern image read by the reader, a detector to detect the interval of the stripes of the stripe pattern stored in the memory, and a controller to control the image forming unit on the basis of the stripe interval detected by the detector.

An image forming apparatus forms a predetermined test image, detects a spatial frequency characteristic of the test image, and determines an optimum image forming condition on the basis of the detected spatial frequency characteristic.

A multi-image forming apparatus for forming a multi-image by sequentially transferring images formed at a plurality of image forming stations including image bearing members onto a transfer sheet and aims to prevent the damage due to the friction thereof. The apparatus is so designed that, while a transfer sheet conveying means is being engaged by the image bearing members of the plural image forming stations arranged along a transfer sheet feeding direction, the transfer sheet conveying means and the image bearing members are driven without stopping one of these elements (i.e., image bearing members or transfer sheet conveying means) alone.

Multi-image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming means, for forming an image on an image receiver member, which in turn includes an image bearing member on which a toner image can be born, a latent image forming means for forming a latent image modulated by an electric signal on the image bearing member, and transfer means for transferring the toner image onto the image receiver sheet. Also included in the image forming apparatus are first detection means for detecting the density of the toner image on the image bearing member before an image transferring operation, second detection means for detecting the density of the toner image on the image receiver member after the image transferring operation, and control means for controlling a transferring condition of the transfer means and an image forming condition of the latent image forming means on the basis of detection results from the first and second detection means.
