A connector comprises a housing, a power contact attached to the housing, and a fixing member fixing the power contact to the housing. The connector is mateable along a front-rear direction with a mating connector located at a mating side. The housing has a rear wall, a contact-holding hole and an abutment portion, wherein the contact-holding hole pierces the rear wall in the front-rear direction, and the abutment portion is located toward the mating side with respect to the contact-holding hole. The power contact has a held portion, a fixed portion and an abutting portion, wherein the held portion is inserted in the contact-holding hole from the mating side to be held by the contact-holding hole, the fixed portion is formed to be located far from the mating side with respect to the held portion, and the abutting portion is formed to be located toward the mating side with respect to the held portion so that the abutting portion is brought into abutment with the abutment portion when the held portion is inserted in the contact-holding hole. The fixing member is attached to the held portion so that a part of the housing is sandwiched between the abutting portion and the fixing member in the front-rear direction.

Connector

A connector comprises a housing extending in a front-rear direction and a sealing member attached in the housing. The housing has a rear wall located at a rear end portion of the housing and an enclosed portion extending from the rear wall in the front-rear direction. When the housing is formed by a molding process, a metal mold is used to form a plurality of seal stoppers around the enclosed portion. Each of the seal stoppers protrudes from the enclosed portion in a direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction. The housing has a plurality of holes which are formed when the metal mold is removed from the housing. Each of the holes pierces the rear wall in the front-rear direction. The holes face the respective seal stoppers in the front-rear direction. The sealing member is attached to the enclosed portion so as to be located between the rear wall and the seal stoppers in the front-rear direction. The front sides of the holes are covered by the sealing member.

In a ZIF connector having first and second connectors, the first connector includes an operating member rotatably held by a first insulator portion holding first contacts arranged adjacent to one another in a predetermined direction. The second connector includes a floating member held by a second insulator portion to be rotatable and slidable in the predetermined direction. The floating member has a first and a second surface which face the first contacts and the operating member, respectively, in a mutually fitted state of the first and the second connectors. Second contacts have one parts held by the first surface and arranged adjacent to one another in the predetermined direction. The floating member is rotated in a first rotating direction to bring the second contacts into contact with the first contacts when the operating member is rotated in the mutually fitted state.

ZIF connector in which a position of a contact is automatically adjusted during a connecting operation

In a cable connector used for connecting cables () having a plurality of wires, cable-side insulators () each arraying and retaining the wires in one plane are made attachable/detachable relative to a base insulator () retaining contacts. The cable-side insulators connect the wires to the contacts when attached to the base insulator. The base insulator has a pair of base guide portions () extending while confronting each other. The cable-side insulators each have a pair of cover guide portions () of which movement is guided by the base guide portions. At least either of the base guide portions and the cover guide portions have projection portions that bring both of them mutually into a press-fitted relation in a cable connected state.

There is provided an insertion and withdrawal connector apparatus in which a plurality of connectors can move only in a range of capable of engaging and separating with and from a plurality of mating connectors within a connector receiving body. A connector receiving body ( ) has a pair of parallel frames ( ), a pair of frame blocks ( ) positioned at both end portions, and a plurality of partition members ( ). There is provided an insertion and withdrawal connector apparatus in which a plurality of connectors can move only in a range of capable of engaging and separating with and from a plurality of mating connectors within a connector receiving body. A connector receiving body (1) has a pair of parallel frames (3), a pair of frame blocks (4) positioned at both end portions, and a plurality of partition members (5). One connector (10) and one mating connector are received in each of a plurality of space portions, that is, receiving chambers partitioned by a pair of frames, a pair of frame blocks, and a plurality of partition members. Each of the partition members has a pair of lances (5f, 5g) having a spring characteristic and each of the connectors has a pair of interlocking groove portions (10g) on both side surfaces. The lance (5f) interlocks with the interlocking groove portion on one of the side surfaces in the connector, and the lance (5g) interlocks with the interlocking groove portion on the other of the side surfaces in the connector. Each of the connectors has a convex portion (10d) at an upper end portion on one of the side surfaces and at a lower end portion on the other of the side surfaces, and each of the convex portions interlocks with each of the partition members.

Insertion and withdrawal connector apparatus, structure of remote

A top housing, which has formed therein arrays of first housing chambers and first pin insertion holes respectively communicating therewith, and a bottom housing, which has formed therein arrays of second housing chambers and second pin insertion holes respectively communicating therewith, are assembled together so that the corresponding first and second housing chambers intercommunicate. A socket contactor is housed across the corresponding first and second housing chambers. The top and bottom housings are held together by a frame so that they are slidable relative to each other. Terminal pins of an IC are inserted into the first housing chambers through the first pin insertion holes and pin conductors of a printed board are inserted into the second housing chambers through the second pin insertion holes. By sliding the top and bottom housings relative to each other, each socket contactor is bent, and by its spring force, the socket contactor is urged against the terminal pin and the pin conductor.
