A light detection device detects an incident position of light. The plurality of pixels are arranged two-dimensionally in a matrix and individually have a first photosensitive portion and a second photosensitive portion. The first circuit connects a plurality of first photosensitive portions to each other for every row. The second circuit connects a plurality of second photosensitive portions to each other for every column. The first reading unit reads signal data through the first circuit. The second reading unit reads signal data through the second circuit. The first circuit includes row switches arranged to switch electrical connection and disconnection between first photosensitive portions adjacent to each other in the same row.

Provided is a shape measurement sensor including a light-receiving unit and a calculation unit. The light-receiving unit includes a plurality of pixel pairs. Each of the pixel pairs includes a first pixel and a second pixel that is disposed side by side with the first pixel along a first direction. In the first pixel, as an incident position is closer to one end of the light-receiving unit in a second direction, an intensity of a first electric signals decreases. In the second pixel, as the incident position is closer to the one end, an intensity of a second electric signal increases. The calculation unit calculates the incident position in the second direction for each of the pixel pairs on the basis of the intensity of the first electric signal and the intensity of the acquired second electric signal.

A light beam irradiation device includes a light source unit that emits a light beam, a reflection mirror and a driving unit that swings the reflection mirror under supply of a driving signal, and comprises the light deflection unit receiving and reflecting the light beam emitted from the light source unit using the reflection mirror, a light deflection angle detection unit that includes a light reception surface that receives the light beam reflected by the reflection mirror, the light deflection angle detection unit detecting a position of the light beam on the light reception surface at a frequency equal to or higher than four times a resonance frequency of the light deflection unit and outputting a detection signal indicating the position, and an operation control unit that corrects the driving signal on the basis of the detection signal and outputs the corrected driving signal to the light deflection unit.

Measurement device and measurement method

An encoder calculates an absolute value of an operating angle of a scale plate. The scale plate includes light relay portions formed along an operational direction &#x3b1; in the scale plate with a pattern of a one-dimensional array of optically transparent portions and optically nontransparent portions. The encoder identifies the light relay portion formed on a light receiving region, based on second light intensity profile data V(m), and by using the patterns of optically transparent and optically nontransparent portions as codes. The position of a light relay portion can be accurately retrieved using reference positions for each light relay portion in the scale plate. The encoder calculates a center-of-gravity position of the identified light relay portion relative to a reference position in the light receiving region, based on first light intensity profile V(n), and calculates an operating angle of the scale plate from the center-of-gravity position.
