The invention is directed to increased stabilization of a pickup operation by reducing a reaction against disturbance by reducing a feedback value when a pickup rate is improved. A positional shifting amount of an electronic component on a suction nozzle before the electronic component is mounted on a printed board is stored in a RAM each time the component is picked up at a component feeding unit until a pickup count number reaches a predetermined pickup number, and a CPU calculates an average of the positional shifting amounts. When the pickup count number reaches the predetermined pickup number, the CPU obtains a temporary coefficient by adding an initial value to a value obtained by multiplying a negative coefficient by the pickup count number, and calculates a feedback value by multiplying the temporary coefficient by the average. The calculated feedback value is added to an offset value of a component pickup position to modify the offset value, and uses the offset value in the next pickup operation at the component feeding unit.

Electronic component mounting method and electronic component mounting apparatus

An electronic parts-mounting apparatus including a rotating vertical shaft and at least one mounting head arranged around the vertical shaft has a lift cam mechanism that operates to lift and lower an associated one of the at least one mounting head as each mounting head is rotated with the vertical shaft. The lift cam mechanism includes a cylindrical cam having an annular protruding portion concentrically disposed with respect to the vertical shaft that provides upper and lower cam surfaces. A head-lifting/lowering member is lowered and lifted with respect to the main block via the pair of rails and the nut member. A mounting head is attached to the head-lifting/lowering member. There are provided a nozzle clogging detection device for an electronic component-mounting apparatus, which has a simple construction and is capable of accurately detecting clogging of a vacuum nozzle and erroneous mounting of a vacuum nozzle different in diameter, and a nozzle clogging detection method therefor. A flow meter is arranged across a vacuum passage communicating between a vacuum pump and the nozzle hole of the vacuum nozzle, for measuring an actual flow rate of air drawn in through the nozzle hole. Clogging of the nozzle hole and erroneous mounting of the vacuum nozzle is detected by comparing the actual flow rate measured by the flow meter with a design flow rate of air to be drawn through the nozzle hole, the design flow rate of air being stored in advance.

An optical communication device for communication between a stator-side circuit and a rotor-side circuit is provided as one aspect of the invention. A pair of optical couplers are interposed between a stator and a rotor, for permitting bi-directional communication between the circuits. One optical coupler has a rotor-side light-receiving element arranged on the rotor with the axis of rotation extending therethrough, and a stator-side light-emitting element arranged on the stator at a location away from the axis of rotation. There is provided a mounting head for an electronic component-mounting apparatus. A nozzle holder has a plurality of vacuum nozzles arranged circumferentially about an axis thereof in a manner such that each vacuum nozzle is capable of projecting from the nozzle holder and retracting in the nozzle holder. A holder support member supports the nozzle holder in a manner such that the nozzle holder can rotate about the axis thereof. A nozzle-rotating motor drives the nozzle holder about the axis thereof for rotation in normal and reverse directions. The nozzle holder is driven for rotation by the nozzle-rotating motor to bring one of the vacuum nozzles selected for use to a projecting position. The selected one is caused to project from a lower end face of the nozzle holder at the projecting position. A plurality of cam followers are mounted at respective upper portions of the vacuum nozzles. The cam followers are in contact with an annular end cam in a manner such that the cam flowers can move on the annular end cam. The annular end cam is formed with a nozzle-projecting surface for causing the selected one of the vacuum nozzles to project from the nozzle holder when the selected one of the vacuum nozzles is at the projecting position. A cam-rotating motor drives the end cam for rotation about an axis of the end cam in normal and reverse directions.

Mounting head for electronic component-mounting apparatus

There is provided a mounting head for an electronic component-mounting apparatus. A nozzle holder has a plurality of suction nozzles arranged circumferentially about a vertical axis thereof in a manner such that each suction nozzle is capable of projecting from the nozzle holder and retracting in the nozzle holder. A holder support member supports the nozzle holder in a manner such that the nozzle holder can rotate about the vertical axis thereof. Rotation drive means drives the nozzle holder for rotation in normal and reverse directions. The nozzle holder is driven for rotation by the rotation drive means to bring one of the suction nozzles selected for use to a projecting position. The selected one is caused to project from a lower end face of the nozzle holder at the projecting position. A plurality of cam followers are mounted at respective upper portions of the suction nozzles. The cam followers are in contact with an annular end cam in a manner such that the cam flower can move on the annular end cam. The annular end cam is formed with a nozzle-projecting surface for causing one of the suction nozzles corresponding in position thereto to project from the nozzle holder.

There is provided a lift cam mechanism for an electronic parts-mounting apparatus including a vertical shaft and at least one mounting head arranged around the vertical shaft. The lift cam mechanism operates to lift and lower an associated one of the at least one mounting head as each mounting head is moved about the vertical shaft. A cylindrical cam is concentrically disposed with respect to the vertical shaft. The cylindrical cam has a protruding portion formed on a peripheral surface thereof in a manner such that the protruding portion has a generally annular shape and provides upper and lower cam surfaces. A pair of upper and lower cam followers are arranged respectively on the upper and lower cam surfaces of the protruding portion in a manner such that the pair of upper and lower cam followers sandwich the protruding portion therebetween in a manner rollable thereon. One end of the support member has one of the pair of upper and lower cam followers fitted therethrough and the other end of the same has the associated one of the at least one mounting head connected thereto. One end of the leaf spring is fixed to the support member and the other end of the same has the other of the pair of upper and lower cam followers fitted therethrough, for urging the other of the pair of upper and lower cam followers toward the protruding portion of the cylindrical cam.

There is provided a motor and an electronic parts-mounting apparatus incorporating the motor. The motor includes a rotor and a stator. The stator is comprised of a stator core formed of laminate of steel plates and arranged in a manner opposed to the rotor, holding members arranged on opposite ends of the laminate of the steel plates of the stator core, and bolts for fastening the two holding members to each other. At least one cam rigidly mounted on the at least one camshaft is in contact with at least one cam follower associated therewith. The output shaft of the index unit is caused to rotate at a uniform rotational speed in which one rotation thereof corresponds to a plurality of repetition periods of intermittent rotation of the rotatable table. The at least one cam has a cam profile formed such that one rotation of the at least one cam causes a plurality of repetition periods of operation of the at least one cam follower in contact therewith, and at the same time each of the plurality of repetition periods of the operation of the at least one cam follower is identical to each of the plurality of repetition periods of the intermittent rotation of the rotatable table.

Electronic parts-mounting apparatus

An automatic electronic parts-mounting apparatus mounts chip-like electronic parts supplied from a parts feeder at predetermined positions on a printed substrate. The parts-mounting apparatus accurately and quickly determines angular positions of the electronic parts by rotating adsorptive nozzles. The adsorptive nozzles are capable of adsorbing the electronic parts one by one, and each nozzle is connected to a rotor of a nozzle-rotating motor for rotating the adsorptive nozzle within a plane that is perpendicular to an axis of the adsorptive nozzle. The rotor is rotated in accordance with the adsorbed state of the electronic parts to make fine adjustment for determining the angular position.
