A head module includes a liquid discharge head, a liquid storage, and a heater. The liquid discharge head discharges a liquid in a first direction. The liquid storage stores the liquid. The liquid storage includes a first wall, a second wall opposite the first wall in a second direction intersecting the first direction, an inlet on one end of the liquid storage, an outlet on another end of the liquid storage, and multiple partitions. The inlet introduces the liquid to the liquid storage. The outlet feeds the liquid to the liquid discharge head. The multiple partitions extend from the first wall toward the second wall with gaps between tips of the multiple partitions and the second wall in the second direction, respectively. The multiple partitions are arranged at intervals in the first direction. The heater is disposed on the first wall to heat the liquid in the liquid storage.

A liquid discharge head includes multiple nozzles arrayed in two-dimensional matrix, the multiple nozzles configured to discharge a liquid, multiple pressure chambers respectively communicating with the multiple nozzles, multiple common-supply branch channels, each communicating with the multiple pressure chambers, multiple common-collection branch channels, each communicating with the multiple pressure chambers, the multiple common-collection branch channels respectively communicating with the multiple common-supply branch channels through the multiple pressure chambers, a common-supply main channel communicating with each of the multiple common-supply branch channels, a common-collection main channel communicating with each of the multiple common-collection branch channels, and two or more bypass channels communicating with the multiple common-supply branch channels and the multiple common-collection branch channels.

A liquid discharge head includes a plurality of nozzle arrays arranged in a first direction. The plurality of common-supply branch channels and the plurality of common-supply branch channels are alternately arrayed in an array direction.

A head array includes heads arranged in a longitudinal direction at different positions shifted in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. Each head includes: pressure chambers communicating with nozzles; common supply channel tributaries communicating with the chambers; a common supply channel mainstream communicating with the common supply channel tributaries; common collection channel tributaries communicating with the chambers; a common collection channel mainstream communicating with the common collection channel tributaries; a supply port at one end of the common supply channel mainstream; and a collection port at one end of the common collection channel mainstream. The supply and collection ports are on a same side of each head in the longitudinal direction. A direction of flow of the liquid in each common supply channel tributary is opposite between the heads. A direction of flow of the liquid in each common collection channel tributary is opposite between the heads.

A liquid discharge head includes a plurality of pressure chambers, a plurality of individual supply channels, a plurality of common supply channel branches, a common supply channel mainstream, a plurality of individual collection channels, a plurality of common collection channel branches, a common collection channel mainstream, a supply-side filter, and a bypass channel. The common supply channel mainstream is communicated with the common supply channel branches. The common collection channel mainstream is communicated with the common collection channel branches. The supply-side filter is in the common supply channel mainstream. The bypass channel bypasses the supply-side filter and communicates the common supply channel mainstream with the common collection channel mainstream. The bypass channel is connected to the common supply channel mainstream at a downstream of the supply-side filter in a direction of flow of the liquid along a longitudinal direction of the common supply channel mainstream.
