A screen on which a transition to a self-diagnosis test mode is reported is displayed by simultaneously pressing a plurality of specific keys (AC, Shift, and Menu), and moreover, a transition is made to a self-diagnosis test mode by inputting one of predetermined key signals ('1', '2', &#x201c;3&#x201d;, and &#x201c;&#x2022;&#x201d;), and a self-diagnosis test is executed. A test result is displayed in the middle of the screen, and a specific mark composed of a predetermined character string (such as ABCDE) is displayed at a position and in a size which correspond to a key signal input during a display of the reporting screen.

A calculation data display device includes a display which displays input calculation data in colors. When specified calculation data is input, the calculation data display device displays the calculation data input after the specified calculation data in a color different from a regular color. The calculation data displayed in the different color is operated as calculation data belonging to the specified calculation data. First, when the specified calculation data is input in the calculation data inputting process, the calculation data input after the specified calculation data is displayed in a color different from the regular one until the user inputs releasing data. When the input calculation data is operated, the data displayed in the color different from the regular one is operated as the data belonging to the specified data input immediately before the data displayed in the different color.

Calculation data display devices and methods

A graph display apparatus includes a plurality of functional formulas to be displayed as graphs and their coordinate ranges are stored in a memory by operating numeric .multidot. symbol keys on a key input unit. The plurality of stored formulas are displayed on a display unit by operating a 'list' key. When a plurality of arbitrary formulas are designated and a 'synthesis' key is operated, the graphs of the designated formulas are calculated and displayed on a single coordinate system in accordance with coordinate ranges of the formula which is designated first. When the plurality of arbitrary formulas are designated and a 'division' key is operated, the functional formulas are displayed on different coordinate systems in accordance with corresponding coordinate ranges. When the graphs of a plurality of input formulas are calculated and displayed, the individual graphs can be appropriately synthesized or divided and can be displayed in comparison with each other.
