An object of the present invention is to provide a control device and a control method for a storage battery, which calculates an appropriate maximum allowable input/output power that suppresses deterioration of the storage battery while suppressing deterioration of power performance of a vehicle when a current is continuously charged or discharged. When it is detected that charging or discharging is continuously performed over a predetermined duration time with respect to the maximum allowable charge power and the maximum allowable discharge power which can be input and output during the calculated predetermined duration time, the value of the maximum allowable charge power or the maximum allowable discharge power communicated to a vehicle controller on the basis of the state of charge or discharge is reduced based on the time during which charging or discharging is actually continued.

A battery controlling device includes: a voltage detecting unit configured to detect a closed-circuit voltage of a secondary battery; an open-circuit-voltage computing unit configured to compute an open-circuit voltage of the secondary battery; and an assembled-battery controlling unit configured to discriminate whether a computed value computed based on a voltage difference between the closed-circuit voltage and the open-circuit voltage of the secondary battery in a continuous predetermined period is exceeding a permissible value determined in advance or not. If the computed value is exceeding the permissible value determined in advance, the assembled-battery controlling unit outputs a signal that carries out charge/discharge restriction of the secondary battery.

A battery monitoring system, comprises a battery state detection circuit that detects battery states of a plurality of battery cells that are connected in series, based on respective cell voltages of the plurality of battery cells, and a control circuit that monitors state of a battery cell, based on each cell voltage of the plurality of battery cells. A battery control system connected to a battery, which controls charge/discharge at the battery, includes: a current detection unit that measures a current value by detecting a charge/discharge current flowing through the battery; a voltage detection unit that detects a voltage at the battery; a temperature detection unit that detects a temperature at the battery; an effective current value calculation unit that calculates, based upon the current value measured by the current detection unit, an effective current value in a predetermined time window; a time ratio calculation unit that determines a time ratio indicating a ratio of a length of time over which the effective current value has been in excess of a predetermined allowable value during a predetermined specified time period; and a charge/discharge restriction unit that restricts the charge/discharge current based upon the time ratio determined by the time ratio calculation unit.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a battery control device that can appropriately verify the results of the estimation of the state of charge of a battery. This battery control device is provided with a charged state calculation unit that calculates the state of charge of the battery and a charged state verification unit that verifies the results of the calculation. The charged state verification unit calculates the charged state using a calculation procedure that is not being used by the charged state calculation unit.

A battery control apparatus is provided which can keep an inter-terminal voltage of each single cell within a permitted range while permitted power is controlled in units of a battery pack. The battery control apparatus of the invention restricts the permitted power of the battery pack according to a degree of closeness of a close circuit voltage of the single cell to an upper limit or a lower limit of the permitted range.

A battery control device calculates at least one of an allowable current and an allowable power during charge/discharge of a battery from a no-load voltage and an internal resistance of the battery, and corrects at least one of the no-load voltage and the internal resistance according to the states of charge/discharge of the battery.

An electric storage device includes an assembled battery including a plurality of electric cells connected in series; an assembled battery control unit that estimates internal resistances of the plurality of electric cells, or a magnitude relationship of the internal resistances of the plurality of electric cells; an assembled battery control unit that calculates such a discharge quantity that an SOC after the electric cells have been discharged becomes lower as the internal resistance of the electric cells, which is estimated by the assembled battery control unit, is larger, or as the magnitude relationship of the internal resistances of the electric cells is estimated to be larger by the assembled battery control unit, for each of the electric cells; and electric cell control units that discharge each of the plurality of electric cells on the basis of the discharge quantity calculated by the assembled battery control unit.

A battery system for a vehicle is provided with discharge circuits (RA throughD,A throughD) that discharge battery cells (BCthrough BC) via measurement lines of those battery cells (BCthrough BC). A control circuit transmits to an integrated circuit (A) a first discharge command that causes discharge of the odd numbered battery cells (BCand BC) of a cell group (GB), a first transmission command that causes transmission to the control circuit of the terminal voltages of only the odd numbered battery cells (BCand BC) measured during execution of the first discharge command, a second discharge command that causes discharge of the even numbered battery cells (BCand BC) of the cell group (GB), and a second transmission command that causes transmission to the control circuit of the terminal voltages of only the even numbered battery cells (BCand BC) measured during execution of the second discharge command; and, based on the these various terminal voltages transmitted from the integrated circuit (A), the control circuit diagnoses abnormalities in the system that includes the battery cells, the measurement lines, and the discharge circuits.
