A power supply ECU executes a control process including: when it is determined that wireless charging is being performed, a step of acquiring a current Iand a voltage Vduring power transmission operation; when it is determined that the power transmission operation is being performed and the power cannot be received, a step of determining whether or not a value of V/Iis greater than a threshold value R; when it is determined that the value of V/Iis greater than threshold value R, a step of determining that a power transmission coil has been short-circuited; and when it is determined that the value of V/Iis smaller than or equal to threshold value R, a step of determining that a power reception coil has been short-circuited.

Power transmission device, power reception device and wireless power transfer system

A crowbar circuit includes a diode bridge and switching elements, and is configured to rectify the full wave of AC power between the power lines and output the rectified AC power to a positive electrode line and a negative electrode line. A capacitor is connected between the power line and the negative electrode line. When a detection value of a current sensor indicates that the power reception device is not receiving power normally, a charging ECU stops the power conversion operation of the power transmission device, and thereafter outputs at least one of short circuit commands to the crowbar circuit so as to determine whether or not a malfunction is present in the crowbar circuit based on a detection value of the voltage sensor.

A non-contact electric power transmitting device includes an electronic control unit configured to perform; i) a first control that controls a transmitted electric power to a target electric power by adjusting a duty cycle of an output voltage of an inverter, ii) a second control that controls a turn-on current representing an output current of the inverter by adjusting a drive frequency, the output current being an output current at a time when the output voltage rises, and iii) adjusting the duty and the drive frequency such that a current supplied from the inverter to an electric power transmitting unit decreases within the range in which the turn-on current is smaller than or equal to a limit value, while performing the first control.

Non-contact electric power transmitting device and electric power transfer system

A contactless electric power transmission device includes a power transmission assembly, a first temperature sensor, a second temperature sensor, and an electronic control unit. The first temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of an inverter. The second temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of a resonance circuit. The electronic control unit is configured to adjust the frequency by controlling the inverter. The electronic control unit is configured to perform first control when the temperature of the inverter is higher than the temperature of the resonance circuit, and perform second control when the temperature of the resonance circuit is higher than the temperature of the inverter. The first control includes control for adjusting the frequency so as to reduce output current of the inverter. The second control includes control for adjusting the frequency so as to reduce current flowing through the resonance circuit.

Contactless electric power transmission device and electric power transfer system

A contactless power transfer system includes a power supply ECU configured to control an inverter to stop power transmission from a power transmission unit when a current generated in the power transmission unit exceeds a predetermined threshold value due to short-circuiting of a power reception coil. The power supply ECU estimates a coupling state between a power transmission coil and the power reception coil, and changes the predetermined threshold value in accordance with the estimated coupling state.

Contactless power transfer system and power transmission device

An electric vehicle includes: a storage device configured to store power used for traveling; an auxiliary battery configured to store power supplied to an auxiliary load; a converter configured to charge the auxiliary battery by using power supplied from the storage device; and a shut-off device configured to switch between a supply condition in which power is supplied to the auxiliary load from the auxiliary battery and a shut-off condition in which power is not supplied to the auxiliary load from the auxiliary battery. During control of the electric vehicle, the converter is controlled such that an output voltage of the converter is higher when the shut-off device is in the shut-off condition than when the shut-off device is in the supply condition.

Electric vehicle and method of controlling electric vehicle

When a vehicle configured to be capable of charging an auxiliary battery with a driving battery's electric power while the vehicle is left unattended has ignition turned off with the main battery having an SOCm smaller than a threshold value, an ECU calculates and indicates to the user a currently permissible unattended period of time in days, and the ECU also inquires of the user whether the user requests to execute engine involved charging control to extend the permissible unattended period of time in days. If the engine involved charging control is requested, the ECU initiates the engine involved charging control, and once the engine involved charging control has been executed for a duration exceeding a commanded period of time, the ECU ceases the engine involved charging control.

Vehicle

A power conversion unit including a bidirectional converter, a sub DC-DC converter, and a main DC-DC converter selectively performs first power conversion converting power supplied from outside of a vehicle into charging power for a power storage unit, and second power conversion converting power stored in the power storage unit into output power to the outside of the vehicle. When charging of the power storage unit from the outside of the vehicle is performed in an emergency where power or a power amount to be output to the outside of the vehicle when the second power conversion is performed is requested to be greater than usual, the power conversion unit performs the first power conversion such that a state quantity indicating a state of charge of the power storage unit becomes greater than usual.

Power supply system, vehicle equipped with the same, and control method for power supply system

A first opening/closing device is connected between a power storage device and a first pair of power lines. A second opening/closing device is connected between the power storage device and a second pair of power lines. A third opening/closing device opens and closes an electric conduction path between the power storage device and each of the first opening/closing device and the second opening/closing device. When starting to externally supply electric power, a control device charges a first capacitor connected between the first pair of power lines by closing the first opening/closing device and the third opening/closing device, and thereafter charges a second capacitor connected between the second pair of power lines by closing the second opening/closing device and opening the third opening/closing device.

Power source system, vehicle including same, and method for controlling power source system

During external charging, a charger converts AC electric power from an external power supply into electric power for charging a main battery. An AC/DC converter converts the AC electric power on the power line into auxiliary electric power. The charger is further capable of executing power conversion for converting output electric power of the main battery into AC electric power for output to the power line. While a vehicle is running, normally, the charger and the AC/DC converter are stopped, and the auxiliary electric power obtained by converting the output electric power of the main battery by a main DC/DC converter is output. At the time of regenerative braking of the vehicle, where charging of the main battery is prohibited or restricted, the charger and the AC/DC converter are further operated to intentionally increase loss power, thereby generating auxiliary electric power.

Power source apparatus for electrically powered vehicle and control method therefor

An AC-DC converter converts an alternating-current voltage, supplied from an external power supply, to a direct-current voltage higher than a peak voltage of the alternating-current voltage, and outputs the direct-current voltage to a first power supply line. In a normal control mode, a DC-DC converter steps down a voltage of the power supply line through on/off control over a switching element to charge a main battery. On the other hand, in an upper arm ON control mode, the DC-DC converter charge the main battery while the switching element is kept in an on state. On the basis of a state of external charging, a control device applies the upper arm ON control mode when a condition that upper arm ON control is applicable is satisfied, and applies the normal control mode when the condition is not satisfied.

Charging device for electromotive vehicle

If an external power supply is not connected to an electrically powered vehicle by a charging cable and there is a request to output electric power from an AC receptacle, a power generation mode is selected and a charger receives electric power from a main battery, converts it into alternating current electric power, and outputs it to a power line. In the power generation mode when an auxiliary machinery system is fed with electric power one of a first mode (a normal mode) and a second mode (a high-output mode) is selected depending on electric power used at the AC receptacle. In the normal mode, a main DC/DC converter is stopped, while an AC/DC converter is operated to generate auxiliary electric power. In the high-output mode, the main DC/DC converter is operated to generate auxiliary electric power, while the AC/DC converter is stopped.

Power supply apparatus for electrically powered vehicle and method for controlling the same

First and second system main relays are connected between a first power storage device and a second power storage device, respectively, and a first power line. First and second relays for charging are connected between first and second power storage devices, respectively, and a second power line. A control device selectively forms any of a first power feed path formed by connecting each of the first and second power storage devices to the first power line, and a second power feed path formed by connecting, to the first power line, one of the first and second power storage devices connected in parallel when the first and second relays are turned ON, thereby ensuring a power feed path to the load.

Power supply system for electric powered vehicle and method for controlling the same

A power source system for a vehicle includes a first power storage device, a second power storage device, a voltage converter, and a controller. The controller is configured to (a) execute a charging control in which the second power storage device is charged by the voltage converter when a parking time of the vehicle exceeds a predetermined period of time, (b) estimate a decrease amount in a state of charge of the first power storage device in a time period from after elapse of the predetermined period of time until a start of the vehicle, (c) set a lower limit of the state of charge based on the decrease amount, and (d) not execute the charging control when the state of charge is lower than the lower limit.

Power source system for vehicle, vehicle, and vehicle control method

A charger includes a conversion unit for converting external electric power from a charging port into DC, a conversion unit for converting the output of the preceding conversion unit into high-frequency AC, and a conversion unit for converting the electric power generated by transforming the output of the preceding conversion unit by an insulated transformer into DC to output the DC to a power storage device. The charger further includes a switch unit that enables the circuit configuration of the charger to switch between a single-stage charging circuit and a dual-stage charging circuit. The switch unit is controlled by a control signal from an ECU. The ECU controls the switch unit in accordance with the SOC of the power storage device and switches the circuit configuration of the charger to one of the single-stage charging circuit and the dual-stage charging circuit.
