A neutralized printing paper which is made of a base paper and a cationic compound applied on a printing surface of the base paper. The paper has a surface pH value ranging from 6.0 to 7.5.

Printing paper and method of image formation employing the same

In a recording apparatus provided with a plurality of discharging ports for discharging ink, and discharging elements for discharging ink upon application of electrical pulses, the volume of ink droplets discharged from each of the discharging ports is caused to vary due to the properties of each discharging port. This variation results in a conspicuous unevenness in recording. The present invention provides a method for making such recording unevenness due to the properties of each discharging port inconspicuous by varying the volume of ink droplets discharged from each of the plural discharging ports at random. Also, the present invention provides a technique in which the volume of discharging ink droplets is varied at random by use of a specific ink in order to make the recording unevenness inconspicuous.

A printing paper is provided which is neutral paper as the base paper comprising an ink-penetration retarder on a printing face to retard penetration of liquid ink containing a nitrogen compound, a substance as an internal additive of the paper to absorb ammonia or an ammonium ion released from the nitrogen compound in the ink, and a water-soluble inorganic salt in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 0.2% by weight. Printing methods are also provided which use the above printing paper.

A recycled paper for electrophotography has a fine class pulp containing a fine class waste paper pulp. The fine class pulp is in a content of not less than 90% by weight based on the weight of the whole pulp. The recycled paper has a waste paper pulp content of more than 70% by weight based on the weight of the whole pulp.

A copying apparatus or the like having means for scanning the original to form a line image continuously on a photosensitive member, thereby forming an entire image of the original. A photosensor is provided to scanningly detect the density of the original at each phantom segment of the original. Each segment of the original is reproduced under an image forming condition determined on the basis of the density of the segment of the original detected by the photosensor so that the original is reproduced under the image forming condition which is proper for each of the segments. The image forming condition for one of the end segments with respect to the direction of the scanning operation, however, is not determined on the basis of the existing or detected density, but is predetermined or determined independently of the existing or detected density of that segment, so as to provide a clear image at the area corresponding to the end. The similar control may be applied to the other end segment, too.
