Provided is a polymer having a sharp melting peak and allowing easy adjustment of the melting peak temperature. Specifically provided is a polymer having two or more kinds of constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms, wherein the proportions of the number of the two or more kinds of constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms are each 20% or more, with respect to 100% of the total number of all constitutional units containing an alkyl group having 14 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms. An enthalpy of fusion of the polymer observed within a temperature range of 10&#xb0; C. or higher and lower than 60&#xb0; C. in differential scanning calorimetry is 30 J/g or more.

Polymer, molded body, foam, resin composition, and production method for polymer

A polymer that is capable of affording a heat storage material superior in humidity permeability and shape retention after phase transition and that is superior in molding processability is provided. The polymer includes constitutional units (A) derived from ethylene, constitutional units (B) represented by a specified formula, and optionally includes constitutional units (C) represented by another specified formula. Where the total number of the units (A), the units (B), and the units (C) is 100%, the number of the units (A) accounts for 70% to 99%, the total number of the units (B) and the units (C) accounts for 1% by weight to 30% by weight. Where the total number of the units (B) and the units (C) is 100%, the number of the units (B) accounts for 1% to 100% and the number of the units (C) accounts for 0% to 99%.

Polymer

A heat storage material composition that is excellent in shape retention and bleed resistance is provided. The heat storage material composition is obtained by heat-treating Component (A), Polymer (B-1) and Polymer (B-2) together. Component (A) is a polyhydric alcohol not having constitutional units derived from any vinyl monomers. Polymer (B-1) is a polymer composed mainly of constitutional units derived from acrylic acid or a salt thereof, a polymer composed mainly of constitutional units derived from methacrylic acid or a salt thereof, or a mixture thereof, excluding a polymer having two or more hydroxy groups in one polymer chain. Polymer (B-2) is a polymer composed mainly of constitutional units derived from a vinyl monomer, and having two or more hydroxy groups in one polymer chain.

Heat storage material composition

There are provided a resin composition capable of affording a cross-linked foam excellent in heat storage performance, a cross-linked product of the resin composition, and a method for producing the cross-linked product. Specifically, there is provided a resin composition containing an olefin polymer comprising a main chain containing monomer units derived from ethylene and branch chains having 5 or more carbon atoms, the number of the branch chains being within the range of 20 chains to 40 chains per 1000 carbon atoms constituting the olefin polymer, and having a melting peak temperature measured with DSC of within the range of 10&#xb0; C. to 50&#xb0; C., a crystallization peak temperature measured with DSC of within the range of 0&#xb0; C. to 40&#xb0; C., and a melt enthalpy measured with DSC of 50 J/g or more, and an olefin polymer having a melting peak temperature measured with DSC of within the range of 50&#xb0; C. to 180&#xb0; C.

An ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer wherein the copolymer has a monomer unit based on ethylene and a monomer unit based on an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, the density (d) is 860 to 950 kg/m, the melt flow rate (MFR) is 1 to 100 g/10 min, the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) is 4 to 30, the ratio (Mz/Mw) of the Z average molecular weight (Mz) to the weight average molecular weight (Mw) is 2 to 5, the swell ratio (SR) is 1.8 or more, and the characteristic relaxation time (&#x3c4;) obtained by linear viscoelasticity measurement is 0.01 to 10 seconds.

The purpose of the invention is to provide an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer, which has a high melt tension but a small neck-in, and a molded object produced by extrusion molding of the copolymer.
