A wavelength conversion device includes: a memory; and a processor configured to: receive transmission signal light in which first wavelength division multiplexing signal light and second wavelength division multiplexing signal light that have different wavelength bands in which a plurality of rays of main signal light is wavelength-multiplexed are combined with supervisory control signal light that relates to supervisory control of the first wavelength division multiplexing signal light and the second wavelength division multiplexing signal light from a transmission line and that demultiplexes the supervisory control signal light from the transmission signal light; detect input power of the supervisory control signal light; demultiplexer each of the first wavelength division multiplexing signal light and the second wavelength division multiplexing signal light from the transmission signal light; convert at least one of the wavelength bands of the first wavelength division multiplexing signal light and the second wavelength division multiplexing signal light.

Wavelength conversion device and transmission system

An optical transmission device that transmits an optical signal in a specified wavelength band includes: a receiver, a monitor light unit, a wavelength selective switch and a memory. The receiver receives the optical signal. The monitor light unit outputs monitor light of a wavelength allocated outside of the specified wavelength band. The wavelength selective switch outputs the optical signal via a first port and outputs the monitor light via a second port. The memory stores information that indicates an optical power loss of a route through which the monitor light is transmitted.

Accordingly, it is possible to flexibly adapt to extension in wavelength or extension in route in units of a wavelength separation block and/or wavelength multiplexing block.

An optical transmission apparatus includes an extractor that extracts information indicating port allocation to each slot of a reception signal; a comparator that based on the extracted information and for a given slot among the slots, obtains a count of the slots allocated the same port as the given slot and compares the obtained count of slots and an expected value for the given slot; and a memory that stores therein for each slot, an expected value for the count of slots allocated the same port as the slot. The comparator detects a mismatch concerning the given slot, when the obtained count of slots and the expected value for the given slot differ.

A SONET/SDH transmission apparatus comprises a plurality of interface units that accommodate a plurality of lines, and mesh wiring that interconnects the interface units in a mesh pattern. Each of the interface units includes a time slot interchange (TSI) unit to output a signal selected from among a plurality of signals through the TSI processing of a plurality of signals on the lines accommodated at all the interface units, a detection unit to detect alarm information on the lines accommodated at all the interface units, and a control unit to provide the TSI unit with control data reflecting protective switching operation calculated by computation of a logic circuit which virtually executes the protective switching operation to be as for the plurality of lines.

SONET/SDH transmission apparatus

An optical transmission apparatus includes redundant line cards each installed with hardware and a CPU. The hardware obtains failure information on redundant lines including a working line and a protection line, and the CPU determines switching control of the redundant lines based on the obtained failure information. Further, the hardware switches the redundant lines based on switching control determined by the CPU, so as to transmit an SDH/SONET optical signal. In the apparatus, from or to hardware installed in each of the redundant line cards, the failure information obtained by the hardware is communicated to hardware installed in a neighboring line card.

Optical transmission apparatus

An optical transmission apparatus includes redundant line cards each having a plurality of ports, a hardware unit and a CPU. The hardware unit obtains failure information on redundant lines for each port. The CPU determines switching control of the redundant lines based on the failure information. Then, the hardware unit switches the redundant lines based on the switching control determined by the CPU, so as to transmit an SDH/SONET optical signal in a ring network. The CPU of one of the line cards is set as a master CPU on the corresponding line card to control switching of the redundant lines. Further, the CPU of the other line card is set as a slave CPU.

A protocol conversion system is provided to secure a highly reliable and smooth data communication between different two types of networks whose protocols differs in types from each other. A protocol conversion between such networks is realized by replacing headers added to communication data. Information indicating that sending data was success or failure in transmission is included in the headers, thereby sending results being recognized. A serial interface intervenes between the self and party systems in order to detect states of the party system. Further, for data communication, without processing (or terminating) layers up to an application layer, only lower layers, that is, a transport layer and layers lower than it, are processed (or terminated) to raise reliability in data communication.

Protocol conversion system for data communication between different types of open networks

A system for controlling signal transfer between a plurality of devices, for controlling the transfer of signals between a main device having processors packaged therein and a subsidiary device having units packaged therein, includes a multiplexer section on the main device side for multiplexing signals from a control system processor and a monitor system processor of the main device; a demultiplexer section on a subsidiary side for demultiplexing the multiplex signal from the multiplexer section on the main device side and distributing it to the units of the subsidiary device; a multiplexer section on the subsidiary device side for multiplexing the signals from the units of the subsidiary device; and a demultiplexer section on the main device side for demultiplexing the multiplex signal from the multiplexer section on the subsidiary device side and distributing it to the control system processor and the monitor system processor. The multiplexer section on the main device side executes bit-stuffing and multiplexing in such a manner as to correspond to the phase or frequency difference between clock signals from clock generators and transfers the signal to the subsidiary device through a cable.
