A welding method for subjecting a surface to be built-up of an elongated workpiece to a build-up welding process along a longitudinal direction of the workpiece, the welding method includes a step of forming a build-up layer on the surface to be built-up by supplying a filler metal to the surface to be built-up along the longitudinal direction and by applying a laser beam thereto to melt the filler metal. In the step of forming the build-up layer, information on a dimension of a molten pool formed by the filler metal and the workpiece molten by the laser beam is obtained, and an output of the laser beam is controlled based on the information.

Welding method and welded member

A method of sealing a surface crack in a member is provided includes steps of irradiating a region of the member at which the crack is produced with a heating laser beam so as to heat the region to a temperature lower than a melting point of the member, and then irradiating a region of the member at which the crack is produced with a welding laser beam subsequent to irradiation of the heating laser beam so as to heat the region to a temperature higher than or equal to the melting point of the member, thereby sealing an opening of the surface crack of the member.

In a method of manufacturing a turbine nozzle having a nozzle blade body, a flat plate is prepared. A first support plate for supporting an inner ring side of the turbine nozzle is blanked from the flat plate by using laser beam cutting. A second support plate for supporting an outer ring side of the turbine nozzle is blanked from the flat plate by using laser beam cutting. Each of the first and second support plates in bent so as to form each of the first and second support plates as a ring member. While controlling laser beam based on a program, by the laser beam, the ring-formed first and second support plates are drilled so as to form holes therethrough. At that time, each of the holes has a three-dimensional blade profile, and the three-dimensional blade profile corresponds to a three-dimensional profile of the nozzle blade body. After that, the nozzle blade body is inserted into the holes of the first and second support platen so as to weld the nozzle blade body thereto by using a laser beam. On the other hand, a diaphragm inner ring and a diaphragm outer ring are prepared and the first and second support plates are welded into the diaphragm inner and outer rings, respectively so as to manufacture the turbine nozzle.

Provided are a gas turbine multi-hole film-cooled combustor liner, which can be manufactured with improved accuracy in shape and position of cooling holes in a very short time, ensuring desirable buckling strength and satisfactory cooling performance. A planar flat member is curved to form a liner shell of a cylindrical shape, the cylindrical member is welded in the longitudinal direction thereof to form a cylindrical shell. Then a wavy configuration and a corrugated configuration are formed on the cylindrical shell by a hydro-bulging method, cooling holes are formed through the liner shell by laser drilling at or near wave crest portions of the wavy configuration of the liner shell, and inner rings are attached to the liner shell by resistance spot welding or vacuum brazing.

Optical paths of laser beams generated from at least two laser beam generators, which are used for performing connection and cutting work at prescribed locations of structural members, are each switched by corresponding optical path switchers, and the laser beams polarized by the corresponding optical path switchers are reflected in the same direction by a laser beam combiner to combine the plurality of laser beams into a parallel laser beam bundle, in order to perform cutting or welding at the corresponding prescribed location. This configuration removes the need to provide high-power laser beam generators for situations such as vacuum walls of fusion devices where the laser generation efficiency is low, while also making it possible to use more powerful high-power lasers therein if necessary.
