An adhesive dispensing apparatus for dispensing an adhesive on a sheet bundle includes a support device for supporting the sheet bundle, a dispensing device disposed adjacent to the support device for dispensing the adhesive on an edge of the sheet bundle supported by the support device, and a transport device disposed adjacent to the support device for transporting the sheet bundle from the edge, to which the adhesive is applied, as a leading edge in a transport direction. A refilling device is provided for refilling the adhesive to the dispensing device, and a moving device moves the dispensing device between a dispending position where the adhesive is dispensed to the edge of the sheet bundle and a refilling position where the adhesive is supplied to the dispensing device from the refilling device.

Adhesive dispensing apparatus and image forming apparatus

An adhesive dispensing apparatus and image forming apparatus include a support device for supporting a sheet bundle, a dispensing device for dispensing an adhesive to an edge of the sheet bundle supported by the support device, and a transport device for transporting the sheet bundle with the edge having the adhesive dispensed by the dispensing device as a leading edge. A cover can be securely attached to the sheet bundle.

A sheet supply device is formed of a sheet supply stacker, a supply path for guiding a sheet stacked on the sheet supply stacker, a sheet process portion situated in the supply path, and a switch-back path positioned on a downstream side of the sheet process portion. The switch-back path guides the sheet which has passed through the sheet process portion again to the supply path by switching back the sheet. The sheet having passed through the sheet process portion is ejected onto a sheet ejecting stacker. After a first supply of the sheet to the sheet process portion is made, the sheet is reversed by the switch-back path to make a second supply to the sheet process portion; the sheet having been subjected to the second supply is again reversed by the switch-back path to make a third supply to the sheet process portion, and then ejected onto the sheet ejecting stacker. A first supply of a next sheet to the sheet process portion is made between the second and third supplies of the preceding sheet.

Sheet supply device with quick reverse function and sheet process method

An automatic document feeding device is capable of one-side process and double-side process, and includes a paper supply stacker, a paper supply path for transferring a document fed from the paper supply stacker to a sheet processing section, a switchback path for switching back the document processed at the sheet processing section, a paper ejection path for ejecting the document switched back in the switchback path in a reversed condition, and a paper ejection stacker for receiving the document ejected from the paper ejection path. In the double-side process, in accordance with a sheet size of the document to be processed, the device is controlled to switch between a mode wherein only one document is transferred in and ejected from the switchback path and another mode wherein a second document is transferred into the switchback path in the condition that a first document is still in the switchback path.
